Picked up a little bargain on bumtree.... Sports exhaust specifically for Triumph 955i. The Yoshimura put on before (with Dr Murdo's kind assistance) was great in mid & high end, but caused coughing a sputtering down low... no problem now with this baby! And sounds great...

Found a long standing annoying problem on the Triumph - running rough and hesitating under 3000 rpm.

That's a bit of rust contaminant on the injector from Cyl 1. There was a bit covering one of the 4 holes which was the problem... blocking proper injector flow/atomisation. I had a spare injector to track this problem, so changed it and cleaned all and hey presto! Problem now gone!

    Does that plan involve racing?

Ok, time to repair an issue I've had for a while - air leaking noise out of cyl 1 exhaust valve, and causing occasional misfire. After much analysis and thought, reckon it to be blown head gasket between cyl 1 & 2... or crack in head???

Those broken hoses could easily be the cause of that air sucking noise.

Nah, it's not that. Definitely coming out of exhaust valve area on cyl 1. However, those broken hoses may cause problems at lower revs?

Definitely. That's the idle speed control / stepper motor... so split hoses mean incorrect readings, and an obvious air leak.
