I reckon i know the answer.riding the 750 because it has twin rear shocks and a softer ride. monoshocks handle better but jar me. try hot water.
Load up with Voltaren boys, then enjoy the ride. Try heat gun to soften the rubbers, that's how I get them on.

Well I havnt sorted the airbox but I thought Id see if it would start at all ..... If I spent 2 hours fitting the airbox and no start I would have drop kicked it into the garden. Excuse my chief engineer and his fat arse ...... and all the arm waving (my little bloke was about to walk right in front of the exhaust ) Did it start or did it not? Smoke on the water ............. !
Who's the man GI , WELL DONE MATE I just stopped coughing from the smoke, no matter she ran. Really did expect a quick dance for joy, don't tell me you are camera shy.
Yea I forgot to do the 2 step ! Apart from the smoke haze (it did that when I started it after the last layover ... then it stopped) it ran much tighter and solid than before the carb rebuild ..... havnt balanced them yet either . Will try to take it out for a spin tomorrow ..... might show up some faults but Im hoping it will at least get me a few Ks this time.
As mentioned in the other thread my airbox rubbers are history. Part # 3LN-14453 is non existent Part # 1HX-14453 which is for the 3LN 5 and 7 is readily available and only $4-6 each online from the USA ....but of course the shipping is $40 or more. Might just try my luck at the local Yam dealer first.
I got a price for my carb butterfly seals form a local yamaha marine service centre of $3.20 - as opposed to $2.50 for Suzuki parts. Not such a bad comparison price wise, not the sticker shock I was expecting. Anyway reason I mentioned it because they were happy to order them off the part number - shipping was ~9 days from Japan so I opted for the Suzuki parts. However, when seeing what could be done about the original butterfly seals I soaked them in fresh brake fluid for a few days...they became very swollen and significantly more supple. Give your airbox rubbers a go with fresh brake fluid, you may be pleasantly surprised. Clean them very well first to remove all traces of grease or anything else that may prevent the brake fluid penetrating everywhere and seal the jar once they're in. peace out
