As a new member I just wanted to say thanks already for all the tech info that is provided on this site. I’m currently living in Malaysia as a retired expat from Australia originally from Scotland… (long story) A friend of mine here had a 93 ZXR250C lying in a shed so I offered to ‘get it going’ cos I was bored. It’s now in bits with parts being refurbished all over the place. No history for the bike but plenty of evidence of Mr Bodgit and his monkeys work. Luckily I have found nearly everything to put it back to some sort of original shape and I can’t wait to hear it scream. I’ll keep you posted. Here’s some pics - from a distance it looks ok…
Very cool. I'm curious - is yours Malaysian built? Does it have the speedo that goes up to 240km/h? I had a Malaysian built ZXR here in Oz as an import, it had a 240km/h speedo unit. All the Japanese imports have speedos that end at 180km/h and have a speed limiter circuit
So far it needs: Fork seals Steering head bearings Front brakes rebuilt or replaced Rear brakes rebuilt or replaced Indicators replaced Stupid LED mood lights replaced Headlight installed somehow New battery Fuel tap rebuild Plugs Carb rebuild (Surely!) Clean years of crap off it Try and start it…
Strange arrangement .... setup to look like a race bike but an LED light behind the screen Kawasaki ZXR250 Carburettor Kits (litetek.co) C models are renowned for burnt reg/rec plugs , so check that also If u can get it there , this stuff is great for bike crud and can be used on electricals also I use it on everything when "restoring"
Yep - the locals here do all sorts of ‘legally questionable’ mods to bikes! Now I have to re-install the headlights cos the local cops are finally cracking down on this sort of stuff. But only when they can be bothered RR plug & socket looks good, so fingers crossed its ok. Apparently the bike ran fine when it was parked Haven’t come across Inox yet but will search - thanks.
