Pinned So what have you done to your bike today?

Rode the CBF250F to and from work to test out the new chain, sprockets and rear brake shoes before selling it. I'd forgotten how comfy the seat is to commute on.

 

Replaced the clocks on Nix and put a For Sale thread up for Jack.

Next step is ads on Gumtree, AllClassifieds, Justbikes, Facebook, etc.

 

Finally got the replacement fairing pieces in the mail, and they are correct! Thanks to moving house and auspost not leaving a card, the box was sitting in the post office for a week...

Replaced the jets on 3 of 4 carbs, thanks to a stripped screw, on the 3LN1 carbies I'm currently using. Replaced throttle cable with brand new ones. Tweaked the tune a little bit as it was still a bit lean.

The bike now pulls like a 15 year old schoolboy

Today I rode back home after 3 days at Chris's place.

Amazing week end if you're into bikes

Rode down Friday just after lunch....bloody hot day on the road.

Friday night we did the trip to Toowoomba and collected a couple of gems
Saturday morning I was on my own so decided to clean the new CBR600 purchased the previous evening.
Quick wash down, out with the wax and before long she looked brand new

Saturday arvo was taken up with getting Malarkeys bike back on the road.....huge day in the garage.
Think a new petcock and light switch and she'll be ready to go....close but no cigar.

Sunday arvo we quickly got the carb tune pro and got my zzr600 sorted, was out somewhat.
Test ride was in order so we headed out for a quick run, half way we swapped bikes as I had not ridden the CBR400,what a cool bike....honestly haven't had that much fun in a long time. I now understand why Chris enjoys it so much

Had a blast of a week end.....looking forward to the next one

I agree with your comments on the CBR. It's a surprising little machine

 

Fuel consumption has improved somewhat......clean air filter....air/fuel mixture adjusted and now the balancing done, think I'm on the right track at long last.

 

It's a great machine. It handles so well and the power is awesome for a 400cc bike. Of all the 400's that Chris and I have owned over the years.......the CBR400 is by far the best, so much fun to ride.

 

It's things like this that make me really want to get my fzr400 on the road!

Thanks mate....it certainly was fun.

 

Thought I snapped Nix' throttle cable on the way home. after getting the fairings off to trace the cable back to the carbs, it turned out it had just come out of its bracket!



Soon had it back in again and the fairings back on shortly thereafter.



Now to bed because the mozzies are out in force tonight!

 

Had another day at the track.
Changed the rear sprocket on the RGV up to a 46 from a 41, Made a massive difference. Much better for the track I ride it on.
Sit in 2nd or 3rd for all corners now, much more stable.
Just got to sort out the suspension, finding it wallowing a bit in corners at the moment.
Hopefully with a decent setup and a bit more practice it will be right to run in period 6 production 250 next year.
That is if my hips hold out.....sucks being over 40!!!
