Cashed up from my 21st birthday party last night, @Grasshopper and I were trawling gumtree for fun, when we found a guy wanting to get rid of an FZR250 down Dapto way. Seizing the opportunity with cash & trailer, we ventured down this morning to see what we could see.

Long story short, it was imported in '99-'00 and sat until 2010, when it was rebuilt/serviced & ridden daily. He put 11,000KM on it. It was then apparently "knocked over" at a drunken party (more like his drunk mate thought he could wheelie!) and has sat ever since, just over 12 months.

We have all the original fairings save one, and another set of FZR fairings off a 3LN3, with the fuel tank included.

His ad was asking for $1000. We spoke & agreed on $750 if we took it today. When we looked, it was a bit more ratty than what the photo's suggested, so we walked away $500 lighter and one FZR250 heavier!

It will need some major work, front end dash holder frame etc is bent (steering is true), a little rusty. Will need new chain & sprockets etc, new tyres & so on.

We discovered that the yellow tank is a bit like swiss cheese at the moment. It also had a 3LN3 exhaust pipe on it. The VIN is 6C9M32NCVX2780264 if someone cares to decode it

Because they are cheaper than cars, and you can fit more of them in a small garage ;)

We'll be good at doing up Fizzers once we get all of them running properly! .... and yes, we probably are nuts

We better change the title of your thread mate

What u have here is a 3LN6 (1992) ...... certainly has the wrong front on it !

Could be a bitsa ...have to wait to get at the engine number to see if it matches the frame, but the switch gear , brake MC and fuel tap are later model.

The good thing is that the complete yellow bodywork will fit it
