Have motorbike? Check. Bike works? Check. Warm, sunny day? Check. Bike licence? Check. Registered bike? Fail! Sigh, pushbike ride, instead.
After market by RnG racing UK. Got it from moto heaven. Basically have to remove the rear cowls, unscrew the tail from the frame and move all original lights onto the new one. Once you've put it together again it was a little fiddly but the screws hold well and original panels go back on fairly well. It just looks so much tidier, and when my seat delete comes (green rear cowel) it's going to make the back end look way cooler
Can be done in QLD, too, but it wasn't registered and I am too broke to register it. However, if I sell it then I'll have the money to.. never mind :-( Another bike, another time.
Finally got to go for a ride! After replacing the fork seals and headstock bearings over the last few weekends I went to replace the worn-to-nothing brake pads on the front. I honestly thought it would be easy and quick. Then I saw the conditions inside the caliper. sigh. So today I finally finished cleaning the caliper, put it all back together and got to enjoy the benefits of my work. New fork seals and fluid make en amazing difference over speedbumps and new bearings make it feel a lot happier to tip in. Attached is a shot of one of the brake pistons 90% clean versus one that just been sitting in brake cleaning fluid, before I got the brush on to it.
Fizzer factory crew went for a ride... Took turns with the go pro but having issues with microphone placement... it's all wind noise Nice short little blat for a drink and back before the sun goes down and it gets icy!
Not my bike, but today i have fixed my uncles' bike, a 1995 XV250 Virago It had some idling/running issue's The intake has had a dodgy repair or 2 over it's life, it has cracked and someone has tried resealing it with some silicon and some soft seam sealer. There were crack's showing though the seam sealer I have fixed it with some urethane, i put one layer on with a stippled effect, than a second coat to seal it up till his new manifold arrive's I started the bike with it sealed and the idle is very rich now, will have to tune it once the urethane has cured
I took a deposit on my bike. Well, someone else took the deposit for me. It will be the last of my bikes, some 40-50 bikes in 5 years, this is the only one I have (once the parts bike is collected). And after paying my bills, I should have little enough to NOT afford another bike... Unless....
Pulled the tigerblade out, battery was flat , replaced tha battery and it still, wouldnt start. Replaced all 4 plgs and she started, but isnt running well, guess the carbs are coming off tomorrow for a clean
A bit of a belated post now but I am at Morgan Park this weekend for ASBK with my mate #83 Steven Mason in the R3 Cup & Production - I'm pretty sure I saw some Team Tiger boys here as well, but we've been keeping this poor R3 going. Anyone who is around at Morgan Park should come find us and say hello! Sent from my HTC_0PJA10 using Tapatalk
You cant miss the bright yellow MC22 of @simidau , a few other forum members will be there such as @Brizfox on a blue mC22, @Mclaren will be there, but isn't riding
@Brizfox - pretty sure that's your sexy MC22 4 garages down from us! Sent from my HTC_0PJA10 using Tapatalk
Carbs were stripped, 3 out of the 4 slow jets were blocked, cleaned them in a threebond bath and reassembled. I also checked the A/f screws, they were set 2.5 - 3 turns out which is way out of spec, set them to 2 1/8 turns, she now sounds much better. Time to reassemble it, im getting this one registered for the Texas ride
well someone chucked a wobbly at the last ride that he was the only one on a 250 , figured I better right that wrong
The mighty Zeal will be there to boost the numbers also We may have to do a little bike swapping somewhere along the way so I can experience this Honda jive thing everyone raves about
2 1/8 is an interesting outcome, but can't argue with the bike, if she pulls she pulls! Glad things sound good.
Certainly was! I unfortunately ran out of time to go and say hi to anyone, one of the R3 riders had a nasty crash and I spent most of the day fixing his bike. That and having my mate cross entered into production means it's a busy as weekend! I somehow got roped into doing pillion on the back of Shawn Giles on Saturday... Holy. ****. That gave a whole new meaning to insane! I've never been more terrified and yet stunned at anything I'll stick to my 400 thanks! Haha Sent from my HTC_0PJA10 using Tapatalk
