Anyone would think the above bike is my 1991 MC22 CBR250RRL that I spent the last 2 years butchering, learning, crashing, abusing, living and breathing almost every day. I introduce to you "The Phoenix", cliche overused "cool word" people have been trashing forever but in this case its relevant in the sense that the above 1990 MC22 CBR250RRL was pretty much just a frame and engine for the soul of my previous bike to rise up from the ashes and be reborn once again. Plus its orange... The engine has 30,000 which is 20,000 less than the other engine and the frame/engine as far as a through inspection goes would suggest this frame has never felt the cold hard ground in its 27 odd years of existence (almost as old as me). I have done more work to this bike than I could remember to list out but I guess once you have seen one mc22 rebuild you have seen them all. This time I am actually accommodating cosmetics though. I used heat proof paint and painted exhaust, calipers, fork sliders and am waiting on orange paint to arrive to re paint wheels and the tank the bike came with which is dent free. I have put on a new set of fairings and made a new loom for it and transferred my carbs and all the best parts of the original across to the new. I paid 700$ for the bike and about 600$ on other parts, pretty long list but its just normal things like throttle cables etc. When I got the bike it didn't have carbs on it and I took a pretty big gamble on the engine but after fitting the painted exhaust with titanium header bolts (don't ever want to snap header studs ever again...) I started her up after fitting the loom and boy was a pleasantly rewarded with an almost arousing ambiguous rumble that sounds like a titan that that has been asleep for a very long time. I am taking it for its first ride tomorrow and will get some video of sounds etc and yeah everything has gone very smoothly and I am very excited to get back onto the track to see what shes got!
