    Hi Everyone,
I am thinking of building up a Period 6 Kwaka for racing.
    I am keen on either a Zxr 250 or 400 or a KR1s.
Happy to see whatever people have lying around, that they want to get rid of.
Not looking for a full bike in particular...will look at bitsers.
Let me know what is around. I am in SA, but happy to travel within reason, or organise a courier or freight. Thanks.

Missed out on an 88 Kr1 by about half an hour...bit miffed on that. Probably the third time in 3 months trying to buy a Kwaka smoker and being beaten by time and Distance....
Oh well. We will see what comes up in the near future!

Nice...As much as I love the smell of 2T it is a bit more than I wanted to pay.

They are pretty thin on the ground , most 2 bangers are fetching big bucks

Years ago, when I owned 2-strokes, I spoke with a Dutch gentlemen from Sydney who had worked on racing 2-strokes back in Europe. He was building a 250 (I think Yamaha) for someone and he was fairly confident he could get 90hp from it. I'd kill to have his details still. Just from talking to him over the phone I could tell he was a 2-stroke genius and had been at it a long time.

Well after much looking and haggling I have got my hands on a few Kwaka strokers.
Picked up a KR1 and a few KR250's in varying stages of readiness.
So if anyone has spares or advice...feel free to let me know. Cheers.

I think we might be related.... I have, a couple of times, decided to try to buy something particular and ended up buying 3. Sounds like fun times ahead. Any photos?

After a lot of messing around, I on sold the KR250's to a bloke and his brother who had them in their youth and wanted to resurrect a couple to recapture their youth. Fine with me, as I didn't have the time or cash to do them justice.
I kept the KR1, just haven't put any time in getting it restored as of yet. It is on the winter to do list, and hopefully will have some good news on it running in the next 6 months. Hopefully!
