Thanks very much for that, appreciated.
It's been really satisfying getting the bike sorted.

Not my bike but helped with my housemate's 90's model CB250 (an MC26, I think) yesterday - helped her get the chain covers off, lube the chain and adjust the slack as the chain's been noisy lately.

She's going to take it in for replacement as the chain hasn't been replaced in the 5 years she's had the bike.

I'd just swap the chain and sprockets myself if it were one of mine but she'd rather have it done by a professional mechanic than do it herself.

Moved all my Hondas out from under a collapsed gazebo.
No need to go to the gym tonight after all that!

Also got my 2fiftycc.com stickers and cards in the mail. Will apply stickers to bikes on the weekend. :)

Had a real score of Fleabay US. NOS '78 AMF-HD SS250 main wiring harness, unused for $100. Sounds a lot I know but I had at least 10 hours ahead of me replacing burnt wiring and troubleshooting shorts on the Italian electrics on the original harness (I hate trouble shooting wiring faults). This is a simple replace and connect. Also started the repair on the seat - again dealing with delightful Italian metal / paint quality from the 70s. Still a lot of work ahead but the process has started. It looks a bit crusty, but this just crappy paint and surface rust - seat is rock solid underneath.

BTW, did not remove the seat cover because it is still in A1 condition and these covers are unobtainable now. The joys of an older bike.

It's me, the one who holds the title for the slowest project bike on the planet. :idk:
Now have PCB's made for my R6 to R4 tacho conversion.

Haven't bought the GPS sender yet. Have to wait for a friend to visit Thailand from North America. Yes, I am that stingy. I also got hold of an R6 front fairing mount, which is cast aluminium, and I have to hack it up a bit to fit the 400 frame and R7 fairing. The nest thing is to get the exhaust system finished, well at least the headers, and some PVC sheathing for my wiring harness. I might yet start this engine again in 2014.

Took bike to the local mechanic to borrow their rattle gun managed to get the front sprocket off. I'd still be out there trying to break the chain but it's started raining again. A job for tomorrow.

DIY chain breaker. A punch or cut-off nail, a nut underneath, and a hammer.

    Or a Dremel.

Rode from Hornsby to Toronto (near Newcastle) to attend a training course. It bucketed down and my feet were freezing. On the way home the wind came up and the rain came down, 'twas was an exhilarating ride! Drinking tea now and warming up.
