G'day all. Bit of an odd story here I suspect, compared to most. Always been a so-called 'petrol head', I drive an M3 which I track fairly regularly, but never in 40 years of driving thought about riding a motorbike- until about 2 weeks ago. I was helping B-I-L tidy up an old BMW K100 tourer for sale when I got this little voice in my head niggling at me to have a go, so here I am. I picked up a really clean '95 Suzuki Across last week, booked in for the next available pre- L's course in a couple of weeks and hopefully I'll have my L's by the end of the month. Away we go... Cheers JM
Hey John Welcome to the fourm, I like your choice in cars  As slender said, good call on the Across, we have plenty of owners here with heaps of good info. All the best in getting your L's, let me tell you going fast on 2 wheels is heaps more fun that 4 Take it easy Chris
Hey JohnM Like you story, when the penny drops good things are bound to follow. M3 to a suzuki across, life changing to say the least. You have chosen well, I really like the across as it does most things pretty well. You are in good company as there are many across owners on the forum. Good luck with the test, keep us posted on your progress. Welcome to the forum, hope you enjoy the ride. Phil
Thanks for the welcome, fellahs, this is the second motorcycle forum I've joined recently and it certainly confirms what a great community I find myself part of! As far as choosing the Across, it was more a case of it chose me, there weren't too many local and reasonably priced LAMS bikes, I wanted a faired bike so I did a quick bit of research, found there didn't seem to be too many bad reports, and went for it. The more I look now, the more it's obvious that it made a good choice when it chose me! Only problem is I'm having trouble resisting the little voice that keeps saying 'just ride it up and down the driveway'- I know me too well. I shall wait until I have my learner's, watch this space. Cheers JM
