just stoped off at the bike shop on the way home and i was talking to a sales man... now i dont know if he was trying to talk the bikes up or not but he had 4 cbrs and we where talking about them he says that theres no flat spot in the revs of the cbr like the one we get on the fzr (8-10 000) and the reson no one will work on them is the flat spot (a problem with the carbs he called it) hes gotta be talking **** right one problem with the carbs and no one will work on them that doesnt sound right

just another thing he told me he had 2... ''97 mod cbr's when i sayed i thought they stop making the in ''94 he sayed they where ''94 mods that where brought to aust. and where sold in aust. as ''97 mod but i ask if that was just the compliance date and he said no.... so im thinking he didnt know nothin and was just trying to make it sound like he did or theres something missed

i was told almost the oppsite, on of the mechanics at my local shop wont fix cbrs because he reacons they lose third cylander like i lose my car keys.
i cant see any bike shop turning down fixing any bike at the rate they charge tho
could have been a faild attempt at convincing you to trade your bike in?

Their where Australian delivered cbr250's imported by Honda. I can’t remember the year but they where the tricolour (white purple orange) paint scheme.

The things he was telling you about the carbs is BS. You’re right on that point he doesn’t know what he is talking about. As a rule it’s a good idea never to trust someone with such a vested interest. You said it yourself he had four cbr's sitting in his showroom.

The reason workshops don’t like the fzr is because they are imports. This means no workshop manual. You actually need to understand how the components of the bike and bikes/engines/electrical systems in general work. They can’t just rely on the step by step guide to direct the apprentice shitkicker to fix your bike. That means time and effort that allot of dealers don’t want to spend on a 15yo 250 with an L plate rider who would probably be none the wiser unless they completely **** it up.
