Fitted Stahlbus bleed valves to front calipers on ZXR250C. Very easy to fit and bleeding is a dream. Early days, but very happy so far. Had been having issues with air leaking back through valve threads, but these boys have sorted that. Sent from my HTC Desire 620 using Tapatalk
Been having issues like that myself with the front brakes, replaced the banjo washers and seems to have worked so far, was planning on doing the bleeders aswell might look into those
Not cheap, but I'm loving them so far. Bleeding them is so easy and messy free. Cost me about £30 each including delivery. Standard valves cost about £3. Sent from my HTC Desire 620 using Tapatalk
Went to the track on the weekend with a rebuilt Zx6r (Had a nasty prang a few months ago that damaged the gearbox, fairing, tank and my self esteem). Had a great day running the new motor in (Was very hard not to go hard from the get go) Took it very easy, getting the confidence back and actually practicing some new lines etc. Just need to change gearing, timing on quickshifter, and sloppy throttle and all good again. Also got the old zed out for a run. Had to borrow a battery, as mine had dropped a cell. Had a blast, spent some time working on a few troublesome corners. I must admit I prefer riding the old kwaka a lot more than the newer bike....seriously thinking about running period 5/6 bikes only!!! Love that bike/rider/track combination that gets hidden a bit with newer bikes. I would miss the quickshifter though.....
Made a new throttle cable for the MEC, lunch with son and grandsons then home to get into some painting of my VT250 bits. Big day, beer o'clock now.
Yesterday- Took the motor out of the baby shadow (TA200) after finding compression leak, then lifted the top off to see this:
Inspected the plugs in the ZXR250 today- was gonna replace them but they looked too nice to bother. (What's up with having to drop the radiator tho?!). Inspected the brakes, the fronts are worn out- gotta figure out what bikes it shares pads with so I can find some local this week. Rewired the gauges on the Monster- pinched a wire and lost +12v to the Vapor. Also fixed an evil little vac leak in an intake runner (vacuum caps are the devil!) and realized I still have one to chase down- likely pulling the carbs... but I'd like to have it operational until the ZXR is together. I need to wrench less and ride more. I did some 400 miles last weekend. I should do a couple hundred today.
changed oil and filter on the old 750 .put in penrite full synthetic 10/40. old synthewtic came out black and was belray full synthetic but felt oily not watery between the fingers.would use again if got at right price. bike needs luv before texas ride. have a new set of iridium plugs to bolt in and waiting on led headlight bulbs. ordered new transfers for the cbx and tossing around bidding on a 1979 goldwing in the states.
Gave the old girl an 80,000km birthday service. New synthetic 10W-40 and shiney new sparklers Seems to appreciate the attention, runs like a dream! I do need to get it tuned soon hah Sent from my HTC_0PJA10 using Tapatalk
I bought a cylinder, piston, rings, pins, clips and gasket for the shadow for $180 new off eBay. A new head would have added $80-90, but mine should be good still. That's Aussie dollars including delivery, cheaper than a piston kit!
Hey team, Long time no chat. Ive been away from here for a while but i have done some stuff to the cbx. 90% of the fab is done and going into final stages soon. Working 12 hours a day and no shed room doesnt help. Oh and my phone was damaged so i lost all the progress pics from the build Im coming upto full engine rebuild and i was wondering if there was a manual for the cbx 250 on here? I saw a post last year one of the members had a manual? Any help would be great!! Thanks
aw a zeal today in belmont. never seen one in the flesh before.thought-whats linkin doing in newcastle?
Re-did the throttle body sync on the zeal carbs. 1&2 needed only slight adjustment, but 3&4 were way out. Fixed that and adjusted the middle sync til it idled nicely and didn't stumble to rev at low throttle. Went for a quick test ride and the difference is night and day. It rides smoother and doesn't sound uneven below 4 thousand revs. Also got rid of that high idling unless you kept the throttle shut. Tightened up the bolts on the EXUP block off plate & the headers to stop some exhaust leaks. Off for a ride now and maybe drop into the fizzer factory later
@GreyImport @Murdo & other tamworth locals... watch out if you're going out to Daruka Rd. Local catchment must be full
