Hi guy's Ive just rebuilt my 250rr and I have run into a problem... I cant get her to turn over Fuel is good the battery is good Spark plugs and unit are good It has to be one of the sensors My guess is the clutch sensor.. The side stand light turns off so it should be working you'd think Is there any thing eles I could have missed Any advice at this point is good so close to having a good ride Cheers Mar7inez13
The two wires into the back of the clutch lever??? Yea mate im pretty sure I have gone over her a few times now and checked all contections
This one drove me mad! I'm not sure if I rubbed the grounding area too much with a greasy finger or what caused it, but for some reason when I put mine back together it refused to ground well until I hit the ground point with a little emery cloth. Moving the wire to another part of the frame and holding it would let the bike start, but having it bolted down didn't!
Oh **** really!! Earth points wouldnt have thought that Well cheers guys i have a few things to run with now ill check them off and let you know how it goes Cheers again
Hey guys So i cleaned all the earths and still nothing but then chased the wires again and worked out the starter motor **** itself 10min job to swap it over Turned over second go, yay!!! Just want to take her for a quick run and theres nothing there when on the throttle Like theres is a huge flat spot in the carbys... I think I will have to rebuild them too... Okay so here is where I my need hands on help if anyone is free to call over to help..?? I can put on some beers ( ill need a few) Cheers Mar7inez13

have a look at your vacuum lines... had the same problem with my zzr250.. after i pulled em, cleaned em, and re-installed the throttle response was choppy and loosing power like it had a flatspot/no fuel... pulled it all off again re-arranged the vacuum lines so there was no kinks or twists and it stopped it and ran 95% better. still has alittle flat spot at the higher end but i'm not worried bout it now. you could have a small split in the lines or its kinked while its all together, something small makes a big problem.
If the flat spot is just off idle, and when you blip the throttle, then the pilot jets might be clogged up, or restricted with gum/dried up fuel. Remove the fuel bowl's and the pilot jet from each carby, then poke a single strand of copper wire through them a few times to clean them out. The pilot jet holes are tiny so the pilot jets have the most chance of blocking up compared to the mains etc

Actually confirm 100% you are getting spark. If the lime green wire is getting continuity to ANY ground point and the black and white wire from the cdi is getting power/continuity from the "ignition" fuse 10a when the killswitch is on then the cdi WILL give spark, neutral overrides all safeties EXCEPT the killswitch. If you can attach a temporary wire from sliding it in with the blade fuse for "ignition" and then slide it in with 1 of the 2 ignition coil pigtails that are black and white this will bypass the killswitch.
