Hi guys I bought this Honda CBX 250 from a guy who tried to build a cafe racer.
I picked it up and immediately noticed some seriously dodgy welding and a very odd shaped rear end so I decided to fix it... by stripping it down and doing it the right way.
Side note I want to put a cone filter on it do I have to rejet the carb or no?:thumb_ups:

So tommorow the frame is going to be welded properly and the weekend I will spray the frame, tank and begin building the new bumbox.
I am also helping my buddy with his 3LN3.

I hope you're not too heavy or your rear wheel will bottom out on that frame.

If you were to cut a small wedge into the front of the extension's from the top of the diagonal then weld it up that might help gain a little more clearance.
It would also have that section sitting up on the same angle as the new tail piece you are making
And wouldn't take much to refinish that small area either

Things that still need to be done:
    1. Cover bumbox.
    2. Touch up frame and swing arm.
    3. Proper thorough service.
    4. Tune carb.
    5. Clean Wheels and put Rim Tape.
    6. Build custom sidecovers.
    7. Clean and Polish the whole bike.
PS. I have put on indicators and taillight since photo was taken.

hot damn those original welds, thin tube is difficult but it isn't THAT difficult, gaffer tape would have been stronger
