Was great to meet you southerners. I had a great time and it will be good to be able to put names to faces. Let's just say the locals were some real characters at the lunatic.

    Indeed Lions road FTW.

P.S @GreyImport 's entrance yesterday when the New South Welshman finally arrived was absolutely hysterical! Also i thought you guys were just being whingers complaining about your roads but the are indeed as bad as you guys make out hah.

Well I have to start off by saying what a great weekend, Phil and I set off at 9:30am Saturday and fueled up the bikes then headed to Beaudesert to meet Th3 Huntsman who showed up right on 11am. We had a quick feed of KFC then had a chat about the route. When looking south, the clouds were rolling in so we opted for the most direct route which was via Woodenbong, Urbanville, Bonalbo and into Drake. Fueled p in Woodenbong and it was all go !!!

The NSW members have long whinged about the quality of roads and after loosing 9 State Of Origins in a row, us Qlders thought it was them just being New South Welshman, well let me tell you they were not exaggerating, the roads were crap. During the ride to Bonalbo, my kidneys sent me text asking to be donated at the nearest Hospital as they couldn't go on. On the way out of Bonalbo I noticed my bike was rattling when I hit a pothole, I pulled over and wiggled my bars left to right and they were okay, so I continued on, by the time I reached the Bruxner Highway I thought my head stem bearings had caved in, I wiggled my bars left to right and no movement however forward and back I had heaps of movement, I borrowed screwdriver and was able to nip the head stem bearings up. We arrived in Drake about 3pm and had a few cold ones while we waiting for the NSW Blues to arrive, Murdo had said they should get there between 3 and 4 so managed to get a few shouts in before we started getting worried. A white van showed up and net thing we had Karaoke equipment being setup, this is going to be a fun night.

Just after 5pm we spotted a Honda Dominator cruise into the carpark, woo hoo, Murdo is here, then the rest of the lads showed up, Grey Import over short the side street so he came in on another driveway , he had quite a head of steam up on the gravel and driveway and angled towards us, then grabbed a fist full of front brake and skidded for a few meters before dropping his bike and snapping off his mirror. We all looked at each other with shock, it was like WTF, GI started laughing and so we did we, in fact it was the grandest entry of all of us.

Into the bar we went and had a few more beers then time for some tucker, the Luntic Hotel put on a good spread that was well priced, a few of the lads had desert, but you had to watch Risky, he was into every else's desert when they weren't looking. We abstained from the karaoke machine, although we did ask Grey Import if there was a chance he could knock out Gravel Rash by Hyosung :)

Andy aka Grasshopper had some samples of oil filters and brake pads which he is now selling, I certainly will be getting them from him, great prices!!! Conversation went from bikes, cars ( Jeep verse Alfa's), Ladies in the Phillipines etc More drinks, then we all started peeling off for bed and I hit the sack around 10pm

We were all up by 7am and had a quick feed at the pub, then donned our kit and hit the road. Dark Clouds were closing in so everyone was keen for the quickest route home. Th3 Huntsman Phil and I headed for Casino and topped up our Fuel then went through Kyogle, we intended on heading over Mt Lindesay and into Beaudesert but seeing as though we were at the Lions Road, I pulled in front and pulled in, the road quality was ordinary until we hit the border then it got better, before we knew it we were in Rathdowney and on our way to Beaudesert. A quick stop at Maccas for a coffee and bid farewell to Tyson and Phil and I headed home.

Big thanks to everyone who rocked up , great to see Risky and Murdo again, nice to put a face to a name for Grey Import and Grasshopper. Sorry about the average pics, I couldn't be arsed lugging my SLR there and back so its Crapple IPhone quality only.

All up we did 522kms on the ride, bikes ran well, great weekend !!!

A huge thanks to the Lunatic hotel, great place to visit !!

Thanks for the write-up @kiffsta. It was great to meet the QLD team face to face! Our journey to The Lunatic Hotel in Drake consisted of leaving Tamworth at 9.00am, then to Manila, Baraba, Bingara. Then a really interesting drive via Copeton Dam Rd and Copeton Dam, across to Inverell. Then headed to Glen Innes via Gwydir Hwy. Once at Glen Innes, a very cool drive via the twisties to Drake...

Great weekend .... plenty of good riding , plenty of good beer and food and plenty of bullshit round the table.

Great to meet the Qld boys in person finally :thumb_ups:

The Lunatic hotel .... well it was full of lunatics!

Thanx to @Murdo for putting it all together and keeping things organized out on the road :thumb_ups:

Well my journey started Friday arvo when I made my way down to BrisVegas and spent the night at Chris's place.
Saturday morning we left Birkdale around 9.30 and headed to Beaudesert to rendez vous with Tyson. Chris has pretty much explained our journey through Qld and NSW on our way to Drake. Never again will I complain about the status of the country roads in Qld, from Woodenbong to the Bruxner Highway was or should I say should be classified as a "disaster zone".
The Qld group made a decision to travel back via a different route, with good reason.
We reached the Lunatic hotel and indulged in a few ale's whilst awaiting the NSW group to arrive. Grey's grand entry shall never be forgotten, I still laugh about it now.:D
It was great to catch up with the boys from Tamworth and our friend Risky. Plenty of beverages and some tucker was consumed by all and we got a chance to chat at length face to face.
Thanks to Grasshopper aka Andys bikes bits for giving some oil filters and brake pads.....very much appreciated :thumb_ups:
Sunday morning after a big breakfast and some coffee it was sadly time to hit the road again. Time certainly goes quick when your having fun, the lads from NSW headed one way and we headed the other and before we knew it we had reached Casino. Time to refuel and head for Kyogle before heading up the lions road which brought us into Rathdowney and on to Beaudesert.
Bid farewell to Tyson and Chris and I headed home.
Have to say I was well pleased with the Bandit, fuel economy was great and she never once missed a beat.
Rode back up the coast this morning reaching home just after 9am. Still smiling having spent a great week end with friends, many thanks to all who made, pleased that everyone got home safely.

You can go to the Nissan dealer, I'll be at the Yamaha dealer with the bikes.

Well what a great weekend. We had a good ride, lots of laughs, some nice grub, saw a few old bikes at Bingara, used up some of the edges of the tyres, put faces to names, stared at the 'wildlife' that came to the pub, drank some fluids (thank you to Chris for the tab), slept in comfy beds, got a bit damp and all home in one piece. Top weekend away. :thumb_ups:
