When you lube your chain next, clean it with an old toothbrush and kerosine & go over every link bending each one back and forward with your fingers to feel for tight links, and always adjust your chain from the tightest spot you can find. Do you have a bike stand? if not buy one, id even use the motul a bit longer and get a stand first

Ok so update and this sounds stupid I know but yeah ...
So I loosened my clutch a little and now my bike shifts smoother , not as clunky when I shift now , slips into neutral easier and from what I can tell on the bike the grinding noise has gone !
What pull be the reason behind this ?:)

Have you also adjusted and cleaned the chain? Too tight can make shifts hard. If you adjusted the clutch on both ends, maybe the clutch wasn't fully disengaging when you pulled the lever in.

Another question with the C model
When first starting I set the tap to prime and start but how long should I leave it on for before moving it to on?:)

I only ever prime it when its been sitting for 3 days or more, back to on when the choke is off

'Prime' allows the fuel to flow straight to the carbys when its not running .... 'on' flows the fuel via the vacuum system when its running .... if its setup properly

So you're supposed to start it on prime then? I just thought cranking it would suck some air through either way...?

On older bike's i've have that have a prime position on the fuel tap, i've never had to use it unless the bike had been sitting for a long time and the fuel had dried up in the bowl.
Prime position is also good for draining the tank.
I'd say you wouldn't need to use it if you ride the bike regularly

Turn it back to 'on' as soon as the engine starts.

Great job, you will be doing that many times a year now you know how. What was the issue with the needle leaking fuel?? Another thing I like to do is lube the cable ends while im at it. I once had to ride from Brisbane back to the Gold Coast with a broken cable coming up between the tank and frame
