I have one of those chargers for my RC cars. Pretty damned nice selectable charger. I'll give it a shot tonight! This happened Monday but it's basically been on a standard lithium charger since then.

If the battery is toast anyway, why not try connecting with jumper leads to a running car? You'll only need a few seconds, just to lift the voltage. If doesn't work, what have you lost? But just in case the battery blows up or catches fire, do it away from the house and flammable item, and make a blast shield (a couple of bricks, toolbox, place it in the gutter of the road, something like that) and connect to the car last.

Just keep the amperage low - you want to trickle it back to life slowly.

Nimh or nicad mode at 1/2 an amp should do it

Mainly that my HOA would be upset if I blew anything up and I don't know how bad a lithium fire could get...
    Cool! Will do.

Lithium battery fires are VERY bad!

Do not jump start anything with a lithium battery off an unregulated (Current limited) power source!

Not much. Logged about 120km commuting this week. Going to give the bike a good clean this weekend and touch up a few small parts that have some slight surface rust. Got the rust off recommended on the site so will enjoy seeing how it goes.

IMG_7143.JPG Ok so apparently, I can't edit and condense these into one. Damn. So yeah. Today I blistered myself with molten plastic, almost set a battery on fire, built a crankcase breather system and yelled at the Ducati.

Turns out its lithium batt was flat too. Unlike the Kawi battery, its Antigravity recovered. Threw it in the ZXR. Since I had the tank off I modded the spare airbox to get a filter inline again. Since I did that, I had to create a crankcase ventilation system.

Yes, very much treating symptoms, not the disease... but i also went thru the carbs again and paid attention to the airways- nada there. This will have to do for now...

Molten plastic does a number on a cutoff wheel, and sure flings itself everywhere. Ouuuch.

How are the carb boots ? And the hoses that run between them ?

You must have a massive air leak somewhere

    Just fine.
    Brand new.

If I do, I've no clue where it is. It idles great, runs solid- just needs way more air than it could get thru that tiny hole and the OEM spark arrester in the lid.

With your air fuel screws , do you have the screw, spring, steel washer and rubber washer ..... in that order ?

What plugs are you running ?

I believe that order is correct but I haven't had those parts in my hand today. Replaced in order they came out tho. Will doublecheck plug ID when I get home- ordered the ones in the manual tho IIRC.

Dunno about properly, @ruckusman! I live in a fairly rural location and already loathe the local shop after a couple of years on a bike (please, tell me again about the 27 year old OEM tyres - that I actually know are 11 years old by, oh I don't know, actually LOOKING at the manufacture numbers on the tyre all my by myself - on a 21 year old bike, I'm totally sold and will buy all your services now! LOL!) so I'm trying to learn everything I can. I do like nice things though. I'd rather pay $200 for a thing now than have to replace a $20 thing 50 times.

Not single, and no sisters...just a stupid amount of brothers. Inconsiderate, if you ask me. I mentioned to mum as a teenager, but no...she gave me another brother. Rude. Slightly more disturbingly....I apparently was supposed to be a twin. Guess I won?

I get stupidly attached to my vehicles, @Murdo. Apparently, I'm worse with bikes than I ever was with cars! I'm still constantly a second away from asking the new owner to sell me Bikelette back when he's done. Erk. I don't need Bikelette! She's a total pain in the ass with that headwind on my way to work. Arrrrggghhh! At least I'm done sulking and actually worked on Mia today.

Soooo...I was sort of forced to stop sulking today. My very dear husband was like "you need the brake lines off today, right? I'm home, I'll help with that." Yeh. I'm totally busy having coffee and wearing my dressing gown. *sigh* Dammit. I knew getting that me a pretty new bike lift yesterday was just a rouse to stop me sulking. Grrr. He's only here a day and a half a week and look at the drama he causes. :p

When I had my temper tantrum after Bikelette was sold I took off some of the easier bits. Today I stripped her. Aww...look at those pretty fairings....and exhaust...and trunk. Hmm. Well...I mean I did need to replace the air filter...the trunk though? Yeh, pretty sure that's misdirected sad panda-ness.

    mEDAnfAl.jpg

Yeh, most nakedest naked bike ever. Mirrors and indicators are clearly for wimps. Not even a panda in sight. Sad panda. Wood is a totally valid chock. Yes it is.

    kTVVPcxl.jpg

Still has purple. Fender totally counts. Got the brake lines off, which was today's goal.

    FwcnMRol.jpg

Technically off. Yes, I know I still have stuff to do...as always. Apparently there's a local place that does braided lines. I have tomorrow off. So, I guess the stuff I need to do will be done tomorrow.

Finally...I didn't really do it today, but I did open it today. It arrived the day Bikelette sold. Looks incredible close up. This is going to be Mia's tankpad.

It's the witches from Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels. The one in the middle is Granny Weatherwax - a total badass and my role model. She'd definitely be riding a bike if it weren't for the obligatory witch's broom. :neo:
