If you have to pull your engine out anyway, weigh your engine. Or the person you're buying from might be able to put it on a set of scales. I'd offer, but my engine is headless and not sire which bits are missing, like the starter, covers, etc. I had a feeling they were heavy, about 40kg. Otherwise, try eBay wrecker listing, they may have already weighed it for freight.

P.S. Beware of cam-chains, they can jump, maybe a tensioners fault, especially pre-07.

Yeah i was guessing around that weight. I'm not removing my engine from my bike yet, I'm just buying the engine because it's only $50 and it has 1500kms on the clock. But I figure even if it has 15000kms it could be good to do a full rebuild and lift it in when its rebuilt.
I am aware of the cam chain jumping and have an idea of how to make a simple follower to prevent it from happening. I'll post pics if it looks viable on the engine.
    Thank you.

    I have a similar sized V Twin engine here from a mid 90's Yamaha VX250 Virago 250 and it weigh's 36kg
    Those Hyosung engine's are based on a Suzuki 250cc V Twin aren't they ?
