hey grey, like your flooring idea. did you do a cost comparison to concrete?i got my perimeter ready to concrete but readymix is not cheap and getting friends to help load and unload a mixer tells when you have friends.

Yea it will be a little cheaper than a slab but it was the access for the concrete unloading and yes the workforce to barrow it .... I think it was something like 80 full builders barrows ? ...but with your average person it would be double or triple that ...... let alone broken down old bastards like us.
Plus theres excess waiting time ..... yada yada yada

I can work with wood easily and I can do it at my own pace.
Todays trailer load of H4 sleepers and a couple of flooring sections was close to $300 ..... but I will only need maybe a couple more short ones and the rest of the flooring and some fixings......I think the concrete quote was $500?

Ive built all the walls etc myself ..... the only help I will need will be holding up the walls while they are screwed together and the roof lifted on.

How is your shed coming along? Any new pics?

My kit is on site but build cannot be started until we get approval. Shed warming is much delayed.

Nah ... no progress ..... except the weeds are taller

Now having another bike in pieces scattered around the house and yard I think I need to put it top of the priorities .... especially before it starts on the 40deg + days of summer.

m, as your slab is being poured by a contractor some things to watch. underneath you need a plastic membrane so that moisture does not rise, concrete strength is measured in mpa.17 is the weakest and 25 the strongest.21 is the norm for a garage shed. some suppliers skimp so request a sample tube from each delivery so the QUALITY is their.also a good idea to be there to see the mix coming out the chute is mixed and not sand.remember there are concretors and concretors.avoid a dry mix or accelelorator added as down the track cracks will develop. also check the steelmesh grade and size.

when the shed is going up wire for electricity as it progrees as can be a mongrel to retro fit. always remember the shed can never be toooooo big.
