Arranged freight for my CB400F to get down here from Grafton.... I did consider driving up and back but 16 to 18 hrs driving didnt excite me and I got a good price to bring it down... should be here late next week... I hope.

Bought a black SV650 on Tuesday which needed some electrical work, turns it was a dodgy clutch perch switch , so I bought a 2nd SV650s which had been crashed into a power pole for parts yesterday. Today Phil and I swapped the cosmetics over , the end result was wellworth it.

Myself and a work mate went a rode the old pacific hwy early this morning. Needless to say we enjoyed ourselves, and the lack of police presence... the dunlop gpr300's worked better the hotter they got, after half a dozen runs in each direction they were nice and furry.

I've saved up my week to comment.
Wednesday: drove 4 1/2 hours to pick up half of a xr200, and back again. Told it doesn't run because it was missing some wiring.
Thursday: thought I'd look at it to see what the story is. Wiring is fine to run, healthy spark, too. Clean carby and try to start, no good. Check timing and it's out by 2 strokes. Do I mechanism off and find it's broken.
    IMG_1515057071130.jpg
So I weld it, grind it and then find it doesn't fit now. Do I try to redrill it, and it breaks. How much is a replacement? $120, too much.
Friday: it's a non-moving spacer, just reassemble it. Had to grind internally to fit after welding distortion. Got it together and estimate timing. Got it running! I think there might be issues like the cam timing being a tooth out, carby needs tuning, and missing parts to be acquired. I took it for a ride with a dummy fuel tank and borrowed seat - did I mention it had no brakes? No front brake assembly, no rear brake pedal. The gear shift return spring is also not working. Place on back burner for now.
Saturday: go pick up a couple of gsx250f bikes.

While there, I made a comment about his car he had for sale, but had no budget to buy it. He said "in the spirit of a fire sale, you can have it." Happy birthday to me! (Literally, too) long story in getting the trailer, but 2 bikes and a car, $625.
Sunday, tried to help a guy get his bike on the road by giving him a front tyre for a RWC. They knocked him back over the age of the tyre (not condition), which I've never known an inspector to do. So the only option I had was to lend the one off the zzr600, my only near-roadworthy bike. But you've got to get a bloke on a bike, right!
Today: clean up the shed! You know, that thing I was supposed to be doing before any of the above!...

Rode it work for the first time in a month! Good to be back on two wheels after spending most of the last 4 weeks looking after my better half (and our daughter) while she recovered from minor surgery.

Thanks, it is indeed. Appendicitis and an umbilical hernia just meant keyhole surgery, so she's almost back to full health now! :)

So I've been trying to clean up the shed (you can stop laughing now) and was looking for more space as I shuffle things around. Then I had a bright idea: maybe the marauder is a simple fix? From the info I had, it could have been jumped timing, head gasket gone or head bolt pulled/loose for possible easy fix. Not so lucky.

Yeah, we did laps between pie in the sky and the bridge. Saves going back and finding somewhere to turn around, and its the best bit.

    Keen to go one weekend?
