I'm just about to start a new project, based around a Suzuki SV650 twin.
Yes I'm nuts, but I'm going to shoehorn it into a Suzuki GSF 250 frame, Honda CB 750 twin disc front forks, Honda CB 750 rear single disc wheel setup & Hyosung twin disc front wheel.
All in Cafe Racer style of course, I love the cafe racer style.

I'll try & update some photos of all the untouched bits & bobs that I will try & throw together.

Look, I had to go back & purchase an old original tailight unit from a wrecker, which included, yes a required rear mudguard, modified somewhat to retain the cafe racer look.
Take a look at my latest photo updates, please don't tell me it looks yuk.

I didn’t mean the SRX Mike, I was talking about what you are proposing in this thread.

Well well , we shall see what transpires won't we, as long as it looks great, has good brakes etc I don't think it will kill me, then again, like any rider, how far do you push the limits? when you have raced when you were younger, you can't take the same risks when you are over 60.

Here is a few pics of dumping the frame over the engine. have now removed the swing arm & suspension unit to cut off all the rear engine mounts & make new ones to suit, I'm not worried about the front mounts, I'll just make adapter plates to suit.

You have your work cut out there Mike...
Just looking at it.. I would drop in your front forks and wheel / tyre to check on clearance before too much was welded up... It could be very close by the look of it.. although the photos could be deceiving.
Is this to race or are you planning on trying to get it registered for road use?
As I mentioned before... if they knock you back on a WOF for having LED indicators and Tail light what are the chances of this getting through... without full engineering certification at least...

I like the match of engine and frame. My preference would to be style it on the standard naked bike but each to their own.

Thanks guys for your replies, Look this is just an interesting challenge for me, no it probably won't get registered for the road, & won't get raced either. yes I agree I will have to get the engine as far back in the frame as possible, and use a small diameter 16" wheel to make sure there is enough clearance between the wheel & front exhaust pipe.
I love, as you suggest Naked bikes, after all the engines are a work of art & need to be seen.

With that tube frame, kind of like a Ducati Monster or the VTR 250 that guys over here put Ducati stickers on the tank lol.

You got it bro, but I could not afford to do this little project if I had to use a Ducati engine, awesome as the Duc's engines are, but the fact is, that the Jap's equivalents per cc's are as good if not better & way more reliable.

I think Andy is saying, as I did, style it on a Monster, not put a Ducati engine into it.

Sorry Man, priorities have changed somewhat, busy busy at work and all that kind of stuff, but your question has reignited the project, so I will add more photos as The project continues.

I have finally got the engine lined up in the best possible position & secured to the frame via an ali. adapter plate, now this has been done on the right hand side,I will duplicate on the left.
I'll see if I can upload some photos.
