I bought them to suit the ZXR, spec for its coils are 23-35 (maybe 2.3 to 3.5? Not a good scan of the manual) ohms on the primary side and 12-18 kilo ohms secondary... 3LN1 supplement says 2.3-3.22 ohms primary and 12-18 kilo ohms secondary... but its all in Japanese so I could be looking at the entirely wrong thing
They're all yours @Tigger996 One thing to try which I found useful when riding an FZR with dodgy carbs / fuelling issues... turn the fuel tap off when it is having issues, pin the throttle and hold it until it clears. If the issue is excess fuel, turning the tap off and opening the throttle wide will help clear it out and get it running right... until the bowls dry up. I made a habit of turning the fuel tap off at red lights, it helped with the bogging, until I could fix the issue (in my case it was needle jet / jet needles)
I have been turning the fuel off and allowing enough time to drop the float levels but doesn't appear to help. when it starts with it's problem no amount of throttle will alter the revs, just slow even beat without the tacho moving. Rightmost (no.4?) exhaust cold and plug wet.
the issue is when 1 plug goes bad due to fouling etc the electricity effectively shorts straight to ground and because it is a wasted spark system the other plug on the same coil won't fire so it's actually running on 2 cylinders
It is only no 4, 1 2 & 3 get hot. when you run a single plug off a twin coil you are told to earth the other lead.
The new coils and the plug caps have arrived. Now I have to get my arse in gear and fix it. 1. Fit my new carb mounting rubbers. 2. Check carbs for sticky floats 3. Coils and caps 4. Fit 13 tooth gearbox sprocket. 5. I will probably fit a new fuel filter, clean out the tank, make a bigger hole to let air in the tank, and fit a better fuel tap. Is it worth cutting a bigger hole in the air filter box?
If you cut a hole in the air filter box it is no longer an air filter box. It is all about resonance. http://www.calsci.com/motorcycleinfo/Airboxes.html http://www.planetsoarer.com/resonator/ResonatorsAcoustic.htm From my links page lots of light reading https://litetek.co/links.html
I took the little screw on plastic right angle shroud off the inlet to my airbox, the bike ran worse with it off. I have a modified standard air filter with the element cut out of it and a K&N element fitted in it's place, not sure it that make's any difference as my original filter was still a bit dirty even after i washed it.
Must have a degree in customer relations and not auto electrics Dear Brian, Thank you for your message. Unfortunately we do not stock the SD10F, however we do stock the SD05F if they will be of any good to you? Kind Regards Jonathan Slaven The Customer Success Team - The Green Spark Plug Co.
NGK SD10F from Supercheapauto, $12.99ea, online only with free shipping. Or they may be able to order them in for you ? https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/ngk-resistor-cover-cap/SPO667528.html#q=SD10F&segment=1&page=1
Only thing with paying $52 for 4x spark plug cap's is you can buy a set of good used COP's for not much more.
I was just going to refurb the old caps but I might try Bursons ... if Supercrap has them then they should. Ill be putting COPs on the drag bike
Thats the ones I had to get from France. The TD850 coils were obtainable here in the UK. It runs but I have only tried it with the airbox off.
