Discussion Has anyone put an EFI system onto a Honda CB250rs

    Getting rather fed up with the carburetor on the Honda CB250 RSA don't get me wrong if i could just go out and purchase parts I would carry on with it but they (the parts) seem hard to get these days
    I have been looking at a no of EFI systems for use with the Honda has anyone out their done this yet if so can you please share with me your results! The prices to be honest seem to be rather high $500 US dollars being typical
    I cannot imagine a manufacturer paying out that much for a production bike when I would expect them to pay maybe $20 for a carb
    Any and all comments welcome

    What about looking for a wrecked CBR250 from 2011 onwards and getting the injection set up and adapting to yours?

    I looked into micro squirt and it seemed quite cheap and there are lots of positive reviews of the system what I struggled with was finding some sort of throttle body that could hold the injector.

    Here is a good read of someone who converted a cbr250rr to efi

    @kiffsta That is a great read, and good to see it finished. There are a lot of small displacement step throughs here that have EFI could be useful for small throttle bodies.
    @trevorlatala There are very few examples of successful carb to EFI conversions on bikes. The one above is the only one I have seen, and he is obviously an engineer.

    What a read and he is very very good I am under the delusion that it would be simple fit and forget I am trying to reduce the effort not create a lifetime of work
    I will look at the option as has been suggested of getting the parts from a wreck that was an idea i had no thought about
    So sticking with the carb in the short term

    I think the easiest and cheapest way to fit EFI to your bike is to buy a new bike.

    I have a harness , cdi, throttle body and airbox for a cbr250 mc41 , the challenge will be getting a fuel pump to drive it as efi systems need the correct pressure to work

    Is this an offer to sell ? if so I am interested I feel sure that the fuel pump will be the easy bit If its an offer what price I feel sure the pump can be sorted

    Problem is that most of the FI pumps for bikes are in-tank units as it is far easier for the manufacturer to accomodate the size into the tank packaging.
    Having said that the fuel pump isnt the critical part.. it is getting a fuel regulator that will work with the electronis to ensure the correct fuel pressure is there all the time.
    It could be a fun project or it could be a nightmare.. .Cant really be much worse than FZR carbies though..

    be cheaper just to buy an aftermarket well supported carb wouldnt it..maybe a mikuni ?

    Well it has started If you look at the attached you will see that i have drilled fitted and welded in the socket and fitted the wide band sensor Fired up the bike and after letting the engine warm up it is outputting 0.8-0.9 volts i.e running rich
    I have just purchased an ultrasonic wash machine so will have the carb off and do a complete clean and then check the setting I am correct in thinking the reading should be 0.5 volt
    any input welcome

    As soon as it stops raining I will take the Honda out for a run and then see where the reading settles
    Then I intend to do an ultrasonic clean on the carb
    and then have another run

    i would get the aem one , seems to be the best one out there , their latest model goes for about 250 aud .

    purchased an AEM unit just waiting for it The device comes with it own sensor Rain has stopped play at the moment but I will keep up the posting and let the forum know what transpires
