With 5 complete bikes of various sizes & 4 parted bikes & 2 split motors & tools, mowers etc all squeezed in 1 side of the shed, I think I need to put the squeeze on the kids half of the shed a bit more, over wheeling bikes in & out, but amazingly know where everything is
Hi Sharky. Well buddy you definitely have some gear stored in that shed. You need some carpet in there it will keep the dust level down a bit.I was going to post a picture of my shed with everything covered over with bed sheets but would get laughed at , i'm afraid i'm a bit of a neat freak.
Cruiser is about 1.8 from top of the snorkel .... but it wont live in there anyway more than likely with all the bloody bikes , trailers and a boat waiting in line .... but good to have it in there to work on
So it’s been a while since I have been on here. Been too busy splitting from the misses so have been sorting out finances, working on houses, selling houses, buying houses but as a result I have not one but two sheds at my new place. The first is more of a fully enclosed carport with rollerdoor at both ends. Not too sure of dimensions but fits my pathfinder, a 7x4 cage trailer, 2 x motorbikes and a heap of storage room on the side The second is a shed out the back about 7x4 meters. Needs a bit of work to make watertight and secure but will sort that out over the next week or two. Looking forward to setting this up as a bit of a workshop/ man cave (but then again the house is a man cave with push bikes and surfboards living inside) First thing to do is secure and make watertight then thinking of sealing the floor, making a few work benches, power and lighting and of course more bikes!!!
roof is going on this wednesday- would have liked to do it myself but knee is an indian curry and giving me hell.could have got fitted cheaper in 3 weeks but what is an extra 100 bucks for almost immediately.gutter is up on 1 and half sides and floor has been swept. killed an aldi drill so bought another and original is being replaced under warranty.came in for materials about 2k under kit quote.all up guesstimate 8 k for 4x7.75 with 3.1 metre walls.this includes the slab.
roof and last part of gutter went on today in 2 hours and 3 workers.roofers who worked as a team in screwing and passing.i think they used most of the screws i provided so close to 400 went in the roof. if the wind gets the roof i might see a flying slab.lol.
openned the 2 pak paint carton last night ready to paint today but the instructions said to etch the floor first. that was done after i retensioned the roller doors. when the roof went on small changes were noticed on the roller door guide rails. the apprentice used the roller doors to stand on and got a lesson in customer care.windy here and floor drying out but instructions say to leave for 24 hours minimum.paint hopefully on tomorrow. couriers please just turned up with the aldi drill replacement. all i can say is an ethical seller whose suppliers honour their warranty. a thumbs up and well deserved.
2 pak grey paint is now on the floor with various coloured plastic confetti thrown over it. first part done is touch dry.the etch certainly showed up the concretor,s skill.[or lack of]
I have overrun dad's shed long enough. I was given a 20foot container to use, but that also filled quickly. So I decided to build a storage shed for 7 bikes: about 4.8x2.2m. I live on the same property as my father, and my youngest brother uses the property to store stuff for his building business. So I raided the spares from my brother to build a shed out of secondhand and discarded items. My cousin got a heap of old pine crates from her work, too - that'll be the floor. I have some iron on already, but at my rate, I should have the iron, floor and wheels done next weekend. Yes, wheels. It may need moving in the future, so I'll use old trailer axles and old wheels under it. We have 25acres, and the shed has spilled out over about an acre or so.
I moved from a flat to a house with 1000sq ft of workshop space. The workshop is now so full I cannot tread on the floor, I have to climb everywhere.
Typical. You get by with a tiny space and when you get plenty of room, you soon fill it and have just as little space as before. Goldfish syndrome? Same happens with budgets, too.
No. But my house used to be about 5x5m. Not sure it's man cave quality, but it is very cave like: large open side, water drips through when it rains.. :-D
Are you going to put a 2nd floor on ? If you pitch the roof, you can put a loft in for parts storage or somewhere to sleep
