Congratulations on your win. Although I have to admit I am curious as to what your neighbour's next action is going to be.

Thought i might do some work on trailer 4 today and was going to get it out, then thought maybe i should sell trailer 3 (Old Woody made in the early 60's) and get that out of the way first.
Had a look at it and saw how bad it was, the wood was starting to rot a bit in the floor and side's, so i took the guard's and side's off and have started getting it ready to make some new side's and a new front for it.
1x tyre had blown out and the other one wasn't looking too good either.
I found some better wheel's with newer tyre's so cleaned them up and fitted them
I'll probably replace the floor too, then clean it up, give it a paint and sell it on so i have some money to spend on trailer 4
and have a bit left over for May 30th Drag's at AIR.

Heard the neighbour working outside in the afternoon, but didn't see him looking over the fence or anything....

I don't think so... It's not illegal to take a photo of anything if you're on public land or your own land (unless it's like, child porn or something like that). And you can zoom in on anything too. So it is totally legal for someone to take a photo of you in public, although you can request for them not to (but they can decline it). It's totally legal for me to face a CCTV camera down my driveway, even though I'll peek into my neighbour's yards. It's not a bad thing really.... The "invasion of privacy" line is a bit blurry sometimes (in this case, pretty clear, go ask the Police) but you can always build a higher fence to block the view of your neighbours.

It must be that time of year again for my neighbour, the friday before last he came and knocked on our door at 4.00pm and had word's with my wife while i was down the back.

He said enough's enough and he was sick on living next door to an Industrial business in a residential area, and they were sick and tired of all the noise, all day.
I had been doing a bit of work on a mates' trailer, he lent it to his step father and it had come back a little damaged (bent guard and one tail light not working)
Also mentioned that he had no choice but to ring the council and take thing's a lot further, and they'd be coming around to shut me down.
Another thing he said was he wasn't even worried about our dog's barking (They only bark when someone walk's a dog past our place or when my neighbour water's his place along our fenceline every evening, they get told off for this when we're home too)

Fast forward a week and a few day's to now, i had a visit from the council inspector around lunchtime today.
Went out the front and met Don who introduced himself and said how we had spoken previously when my neighbour had complained, he asked if he can come have a look at my backyard and check out my setup.
By this time our dog's were barking at the side gate, getting a bit excited as we had a visitor so i put them in the laundry to calm them down.
Yeah no problem's i said and took him out the back to show him the backyard etc, first thing he said was wow, he saw my XR Fairmont sitting in the driveway and we talked Ford's for about 15 minute's, lol.
I had been trying to tidy the shed today so i could use the space a bit better and had half of it out in the drive.
Don asked what i had been doing to set my neighbour off again, i explained that i had been fixing my Mates' trailer, i had to straighten a fender, made up some new tail light mount's for some used led light's i had, and i also replaced the bent flimsy tie down rail's on each side of the trailer.
My neighbour had put in another noise complaint that i had been making noise 24/7 for the last week working on this trailer.
He also said to the council that i had been making trailer's and fixing trailer's every day and was doing it as a business ?

The week in question i did about 1.5 hour's to 2 hour's a day on my mates' trailer,
    i worked between 9.30am - 10.30am to around 4pm- maximum 5.30pm over 4 day's.
I used my 5" angle grinder to cut the 5 weld's holding each side tie down rail on, sanded the steel back with my 7" Makita sander/polisher and some 36 grit paper to clean it up so it's ready to weld the new rail's on, that was it for day 1.
Day 2, i cut the new 20mm solid bar tie rail's to fit each section and welded them on
Day 3, i made up some new tail light holder's out of some 4mm angle iron i had, welded them together, cleaned them up then cut off the old light mount's and welded the new one's on
And day 4, i noticed age's ago that the floor of the trailer popped as you walk over it, as it wasn't welded down too well, so i got underneath the trailer and spent an hour stitch welding the floor to the chassis ( 3x 1" welds for each cross bar under the floor), then i wired up the tail light's and a new plug
When i was done each day i gave the section i worked on a quick coat of etch primer to stop them from rusting as well.

Don was happy to see that i wasn't running a business from home and said he'll email me a copy of the council law's regarding noise so that i could check them over ( which i have previously done anyway )
So all is good there again.

So now i'll just keep going as i was until the next complaint

Before he left Don showed me a bulge on his wrist, he'd been cutting down an old verandah from his house a while ago, and when using his 10" disc saw it grabbed and jumped up breaking the handle, his wrist hurt and he looked down at it to see meat and bone !
He said he didn't feel too bad until the blood started squirting out, he quickly had to sit down and get some help to take him and get it cleaned then stitched up.
Sound's like he had luck on his side and didn't hurt himself more

I asked Don about his 1946 Aerial to see if he had got onto painting the frame, he said unfortunately he had no time for it and was considering selling the bike, he offered it to his son to build up for Don's grandson as a father son project but he wasn't interested in it.
Apparently these bike's were one of the first sportsbike's, people used to ride them to the raceway, remove the front fender plate and headlight and go racing.
After the racing had finished they'd refit the fender plate and headlight and head off back home on them.
Don had the rusty fuel tank repaired year's ago by an old guy who worked doing chroming etc at Wingfield from home, the tank needed a lot of copper to be built up in some of the rust pit's so it'd come out good once it was rechromed, he said it now look's awesome better than new.
He also said that he had been speaking to someone down at an all British motorcycle day last year? about his bike and that a guy was very keen to buy the bike, so he won't have it much longer i guess.
He has another bike that he ride's around a bit too, it's an old Honda CB250 but he is thinking about something a bit better that doesn't struggle to get him up through the hill's and on country ride's.

Guessing Don's Aerial is something like this one

So will Mr Council tell this idiot to shut the fuk up?

And anyone is allowed to enter your property via the shortest method to your front door .... but if u deny them that privilege then if they step onto your property then its trespass ... I would inform your neighbour of this fact and that he can be arrested .... and yes I did it all with my ex :D

crap politically correct letterthat is waffle. write back and ask what council code you have violated and say that you are being harassed and if no reply legal action may have to be taken. then see the feathers fly as once a threat of legal action they have to run it in front of legal eyes.

'informing you of the responsibility you have to not cause a nuisance that unreasonable [sic] interferes with your neighbour's enjoyment of his home'.

And how would one define what constitutes a nuisance that unreasonably interferes with your neighbours enjoyment of his home? Perhaps it is one of those many deeming laws, so someone in a position of power will deem it to be so.

I would suggest the fzr without a muffler would be unreasonable nuisance, particularly with a few revs. At 8pm.... My neighbours have a decent distance of separation.

I think some of the people in the comments above are getting the wrong end of the stick.

To me that letter is basically the council worker washing his hands of it, there's nothing written anywhere telling Craig to stop doing anything specific. Hes basically saying sort it out between yourselves.

From the council workers perspective once he sends the letter then that's his box ticked, case finished, another one crossed off the list on his desk.

Having worked in the public service here in Ireland, that's pretty much how things go, once you receive a complaint you go through the checklist, then sign it off, that's what it looks like to me anyway.
