Have used them in Four CBR engines now with no problems. The rings bedded in quickly and all three engines are still running strong. The pistons have the same markings as the original Honda pistons so I guess they are using the old tooling to make them. One set arrived with a broken top ring, I emailed them and they sent another set express post to replace. Good service.

My two cents. Warm the engine, not at idle, then take it for a short ride and flog it. Redline in a few lower gears. Go home and let it cool down. Repeat. Done.

The first set went into my road CBR and have done about 4,000km so far. Second set into the engine I use in my drag bike, has done two years of abuse and still going strong. Third set in another roadie, done about 2,000Km. Fourth set in my MC-14 which has only gone to top of hill and back. Run in involves warming engine for a few minutes and in third gear from 4,000rpm up slight gradient giving full throttle (ie full load) until about 10 to 12,000rpm and snap throttle closed until back to 4,000rpm and repeat twice more going to around 15,000 rpm the third time. Let engine cool down then ride normally without overloading (or 'lugging') the engine for about the next 100Km. That is what I do and works for me.

I used a set of AHL pistons and rings in a 3LN... as per Murdo's post, the pistons were indistinguishable from the OEM part, the same casting marks all around. I concur that they must have acquired the old tooling.

@Murdo @maelstrom thanks for he advice on the break in procedure and the opinion on ahl , it would be really great if they did get the old Kawasaki tooling . I'll get a set of them in the coming weeks and post back the results when I'm off school
