The battery is way over charged too, not sure if it'll come good once you fit another reg/rect.
Could cook your TCI and all your globe's too atm, wouldn't be surprised if they're all blackened

I sympathize with your slide out, it happened to me back in 88',but not on a public road where you can expect any condition,
It was on Manfield race track in Feilding in NZ, it was a pre booked local club event, but unknown to me the track had been used by a car club event the weekend before & the corners had not been swept of rubber since, anyway the smaller class that I was in 0 -350 was started off first. I ran a modified NSU Max 250 Running on Methanol an steamed off the line to hit the first left hander after the start line,
Hit the front brake hard at around 75-80 mph, I didn't have any time to even take my left hand off the handle bars, all I can reflect on
is the bike sliding underneath me, going backwards down the track, watching all the fluff stuff coming out of my bum leathers all the while watching my bike following me, hit the side of the track, do a couple of somersaults, & myself doing a few similar antics coming to a very humiliated stop.
But as they say, don't lose your nerve, get back on as soon as possible, so I waddled the bike back over to the pitts straightened a few bits & piece's as best as possible, & did a few more somewhat slower laps, even though I had to lift my hand onto the left hand handle bar, because the drop had stuffed my left hand shoulder I couldn't lift it, but my hand was working fine so I just went around extra few rounds.

That sounds intense man, motivational though too. I was pretty hesitant about riding when I came off but it was really low speed, so nothing really happened besides some placebo fear of gravel.
Still using my fizer as a daily though .

Also @my67xr I picked this up tonight from the wrecker, cost a penny or two but it'll be worth it I think, so long as it works. Just to clarify I would run the black direct to a ground, then just write up the three white wires and the red to the original wiring? IMAG1088.jpg IMAG1087.jpg

Three white whires are what you wire in to your stator. The red and black can go direct to the battery, with a 30amp fuse or an auto reset circuit breaker. That simple.

You will need good quality connections, either solder or spade terminals with weather seals. Any high resistance in those connections will not be good.

I'll go with a 30Amp fuse in that case

Got it installed, shrink wrap was a little too big so I had to use tape as well.

It's running, but I don't have a multimeter to check the voltage. the lights increase in brightness with the throttle(to a point) so I think it's working.

Battery is sitting at 12.4, with the bike off now. And while running it gets up to 13.85 at about 4k rpm, and doesn't exceed that. :)

    Old vs new.

Made up an actual bracket for the exup cables, as opposed to the old "solution"
    :lolsign:

Gonna make up a new bushing to replace the old one. On the ol' lathe. Get rid of the rattle hopefully.

That should make it a bit easier to adjust, but are the cable guide's on the right side of the bracket ?
This is the original bracket for a 3LN series

3ln has a different dust cover, I only know this cause I got the wrong one initially, it didn't Bolt up.

For the mine, at least, it's angled upwards more, like this:

So a mate of mine just offered me some Super Corsa tyres for $20 each
(like 90% tread left on both, he races 300's and he has crap loads of tyres)
Would a 110 on the front w/ 140 on the rear work?
I know recommended maximum width is 130 on the spec sheet, but has anyone experimented with a 140 rear on theirs?

I bought mine with a 140 on the rear, but it felt weird on sharper corner's so i bought the standard 130/70/17 sized tyre and that fixed it

Keep the old one you might need it to make a foam wrapped version if the OEM part becomes extinct.

Got a new battery. 180cca, vs the old 80cca. Also weighs as much as its cardboard box :D

    IMAG1367.jpg IMAG1366.jpg
Cells are a bit inconsistent on the old battery. It took a beating though.
