Had a bit to do today... @GreyImport came over with some new spark plugs, discovered a bad fuel hose and a leaky fuel tap. Got some new hose, clamps, and inline filter from supercheap after doing the plugs. A quick stop at the RMS for a new number plate and then over to the fizzer factory to do the fuel line bits and have a cuppa.

Brian took the bandit for a spin up the street and back, too.

Both of us got a case of wet bum from the seat soaking in water through the seams into the foam... going to have to do something about that!

Rode from Tamworth to Bellingen on Sunday. It was very cold - wish I fitted the heated grips before leaving Sydney.

A 2nd hand rear shock has been ordered. I also have a ventura rack kit waiting for me back at work.

Also ordered a few misc bits and pieces from megazip like fuel tank rubbers, footpeg bits and so on, along with all the gaskets needed to valve clearances - that is going to be a big job when I get around to it.

Finally been able to do a bit more work to the bandit. I have a new job, I'm now at Flywheels in Tempe. It's a lot different to where I was before, but it's a welcome change. Just me and the boss there, so a bit more responsibility in day to day stuff, and definitely much more freedom. I'm happy.

My new setup... red box on top was donated, it really helped empty out some of the other draws which allows room for expansion... I will certainly be buying a lot more tools, as if I need to use the boss's tools, I have to findit within the organised chaos :D

As for the bandit, I replaced the fuel tank gasket and o-ring in the tap, and tweaked the mixture screws again. It's been using too much fuel (my previous tweaks were too rich and boggy), not helped by the leaky tank/tap. I also tested that the radiator fan with a battery (all good) and check that there is voltage on the other end. No dramas. Last thing I did was drill out the threads for the fuel tank mounts, as I couldn't find the M6 x 1.0mm tap, so I drilled them out with a 6.5mm bit, then used an M8 x 1.25mm tap and and fitted some appropriate bolts. Nice to have a solidly mounted fuel tank again.

I had some extra cash come my way today, so I have finally gone and ordered a new rear shock from Wemoto. The genuine suzuki article was going to cost more, the YSS shock was just under $450 delivered.

December 11th is the day. Bike is registered and can be ridden at any time. I run it and warm it up every month or so.

But to get into nice shape mechanically, it will need a bit more work.
