Project The FZR on Steroids Bike

    Difficult to tell, however @Linkin suggestion of Inox is a good one - it does look though like the centre being threaded gets pulled into the outer retainer when the bar end is attached, a little bit like a dyna bolt, so perhaps tapping the centre gently, otherwise you could use a bolt into the hole over a washer and tap the bolt head, at least that way it will give you something to grip to remove, those outer clips may have barbs to prevent them slipping back out which makes life difficult given the tight clearance

    Push an allen key into the bottom of the thread's, that will release the tab's and it will slide straight out if it's not rusted in there

    Yep sprayed them then a few taps with the hammer on the washer/spanner and out it came ... but wat an intricate thing for a bar end ... and those 2 little clips just fell out ... Ive ordered new ones as these were a bit scratched up but I dont think they quite have the engineering of these things ... nor probably the weight

    Yea I need to buy some first :D

    Just took it out onto the test track .... damn , blink and its on 150/160 and it sure growls at that pace .... and corners like on rails.
    bit clunky at slow speeds .. chain is very sloppy though

    And boy does it have a hair trigger throttle .... its been tracked a fair bit I think, so it may have a quick action throttle fitted ... which might be fine for the track , but pretty ordinary around roundabouts :D
    ... and the grips are total crap ... thankfully I have some new ones on order

    I would suggest you put those bar weights back in and just screw the new ends to them.

    My GSXR was a shocker at slow speeds when I first got it, it was the balance on the throttle bodies - made a huge difference

    Yea sounds common across the board with EFI ... a few remedys around including a remap


    Bit crook when u have to get the grinder and hammer out on the 'new' bike ... bloody torx head

    Bit rusty inside the cover on the Triumph "EXUP" :lolsign:

    I didn't need to go as far as a remap a little doodad that I made myself, from instructions on the net, called a timing retard eliminator cured it's low speeds ills - the GSXR's retarded the timing in lower gears, 1 -> 3 from memory, likely to prevent riders giving themselves a good scare, it made them a bit jumpy, as in, not smooth at slow speeds in lower gears without the eliminator

    From what Ive seen so far this bike has shown neglect with some simple things so I would have to assume things more intricate like throttle body sync and a decent tune and all that probably hasnt ever been touched ... or touched badly ..... Im also guessing theres nobody around these parts that has the knowledge of these bikes and equipment like a dyno to get it done.

    So there was no adjustment of the cable freeplay left at the throttle end of course so off with the tank (again) to get at the other end of the cable ..... and I had noticed before there was no longer any seal left between the air filter housing and the front air intake where that broken bolt holds it in against the chassis .... filter box was full of shite also
    Cable/throttle all good now but badly needs new grips before it can be road tested
    Cleaned out the throttle bodys also .... bad light and cold beer ended anymore work

    Remind me to never take it to a dealer/bike shop for a "service" :cool:

    Throttle balance is easy on these with the software - sensor readings give you the difference in vacuum between cylinders.
