if the junior dragster was in oz i would likely buy it , have it sign written and sponsor a young person to drive it.remember i used to be an hot rod association steward before ANDRA was formed.was on the winning team for middle elimator at the 1970 national titles at surfers. And was on the same team that broke 10seconds at the calder strip for a 6 cylinder rail.ALSO REMEMBER ASH MARSHAL, GRAEME WITHERS, a young jim reid, and had a girlfriend from west virginia that shanks[reid] chatted for putting her foot on the front wheel of his fueler before a 200 mph run . old memories and i wish i had my life over again.

Just read the full listing on Trademe. This vehicle doesn’t seem like it is sanctioned/scrutineered to race. Listing talks about a lot of “stuff”, but doesn’t mention NZDRA approval, so I guess it is a dragster powered by a motorcycle engine. These were raced in Australia years ago as mini Funny Cars, but with 1,000cc engines. They never took off, but it would be interesting to buy this thing and see how she runs. Need to stick @Linkin in it to keep the weight down. I did see a front-engined junior dragster running a CBR250 engine the last time in NZ. A young lady drove & she was racing against other JD vehicles, so maybe NZ rules allow this combination.

There were a couple of Postie bikes that looked cheap enough but they will probably go much higher.. there were not many bikes in there at all.

Wow! It's nice to see in Australia italian 2 stroke 125cc. Those bike were very popular in Italy from the mid 80s to the first half of the 90s.
If you are 16 in those years you MUST have 2 stroke125cc. The max power allowed (due to laws) are 34hp and they were so fast. And you can easily increase the power (with a 160cc on you get over 200kph). Then , after 1997 laws changed, and 125cc can have maximum 15hp.
And that category of motorcycles disappear... And many guys lost interest in motorcycles...
Other reason is pollution restrictions, that Europe are very restrictive...

This one was my favourite (7 speed):

Are they all 125 bikes? That Aprilia is different from the ones we have, single sided swingarm for one, straight spar frame, too. Is that the early 80s model?

Yes, only 125cc... The Aprilia which posted my67xr is 1998/2000 model, 15hp (how he came out of Aprilia, 28hp full power), 28 dell'Orto carb.
The one i posted is an 1990/91 AF1 "Futura" (not to be confused with the RSV Futura), 34hp and 34 dell'Orto carb.

The first AF1 ("Project 108"), 1987 is this one:

    P108.jpg
    with both 16" wheels, 27hp

    Then in the 1988, AF1 "Sintesi", 17" wheels, 32hp:

    B_b0ee9cacf36394948f06ed6e47f12045.jpg

After 1992 the AF1 was replaced by the RS. The first RS was the "Extrema":

While not a Bike these guys ( based at Campnelltown) do vapor blasting and now Ceracoat as well. I can’t imagine it would be cheap but probably well worth it in the long run.
These are Suzuki jobs done in Ceracoat satin silver.
