Great timing as I was seriously getting bored being in coffee19 lockdown here in NZ. The thing hasn’t stopped all day! Only a cheap model but seems to be doing something.

Trialling different combinations of soap and water temperatures to see what works best.

    Carbs are from a MC16 NS250R

In hindsight, could have gone for the larger model…

Heat is important! 80-90°C will powder the gummy residue, blow the channels out with compressed air and carby cleaner to ensure it is dry and clear

Finally got my new rear shock from the nice people at Race Tech.

It's the last thing I've been waiting for to put my MC19 back together. I guess I know what I'm doing this weekend.

racetech built a shock for the mc19?! bet that cost a pretty penny.

The shock that came with the bike was seriously shagged so we didn't have a whole lot to work with. Fingers crossed that they came up with something good.

I explored a bunch of options before I called them up. It wasn't cheap but it was built to my spec for a lot less money than some of the other options out there. It's also fully rebuildable/serviceable so if I need to change springs or valving it's not a big deal. I've been a customer of Race Tech for a very long time and they've always been great to work with, so I have confidence that this was the right solution.

Now if I could only track down a chain slider...

I'm stuck between having a known good tuner in AU set up a stock MC22 shock for me, or having one built here. Probably a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation. But I'll deal with that once mine is actually running again.

It seems like it’s a lot easier to find suspension options for the MC22.

I didn't forget you. I had the shop return the original shock and I should have a couple of minutes to sit down and measure it today.

Yes, I’m waiting for chain and sprocket kit for the XT. Coming from Gold Coast to Logan ( next door). Sent a week ago with tracking, Aust Post sent it to Brisbane sorting, currently sitting in Melbourne sorting ( yes, Melbourne), now has to come back to Brisbane sorting for delivery. Due date past. Retailer has done the right thing, Aus Post systems useless. Don’t blame COVID!

Here in New Zealand, do you think i could find a company that stocked JIS screwdrivers? NO, had to get them in from the UK. And they have finally arrived. So I can safely disassemble my carbs and fit the Carb kit that are on their way from Litetek.

Many years ago when I went to buy some JIS screwdrivers locally I first went to Blackwoods .... now they have "everything" , or so u would think ... theres was like 4 guys behind the counter and no one had a clue .... after I gave them a rundown on what JIS was they all jumped on their computers .... funny stuff and they thanked me for the heads up
Next was a big building supplies place here (before the age of Bunnings ) and they had no clue either .... there was an old fella behind the counter and he walked off all shitty because I knew something he didnt ..... even funnier

Id like a dollar for every time Ive used my Vessel P2 screwdriver :thumb_ups:
