Very nice Grey, think you might have a bit of fun with this bike. Sad to see the gravel rash but that's life.:thumb_ups:

Yea can be a problem ....but its a good basic Lams bike ...plenty of young people here and to be able to buy local is a bonus being in a regional town

Yea theres other plans for it as well .......... Grasshopper can ride it to get in some practice before P test comes up ..... and with that we have 2 runners so we can go out "riding"
Im hoping also we can use it in the Prov test for the stupid 'going around cones' riding crap etc as the FZRs etc cant do the slow speed turns.

Charged the batt overnight and after a tightened chain and more than 10psi in the front tyre , went for a run .... started instantly and goes pretty good ..... just sounds like an over reving sewing machine :D

So time for a spring clean .....

    Naked Hyo

    IMGP0414.JPG
Thought I nearly had a set of fairings/cowlings with no breaks, cracks or bits missing for a change ....but ony a small one.

    IMGP0411.JPG

Oil cooler ...interesting ....except u have to unbolt it to get to the front plug

    IMGP0418.JPG

Even on a 5 yr old bike plenty of neglect ...... looks like 5 years of dirt and dust here on the cover ... plenty of cobwebs also
Air cleaner element was broken off and just floating about inside the airbox

Haha... love the comparison to a sewing machine. I was thinking more along the lines of those bicycles with engines where someone had strapped a half sawn off 2L milk container on the exhaust but you know...

Yea after the howl of the Fizz its pretty tame .... but then an ex F1 driver described the new engines in this years F1 as 4 wheeled sewing machines

My mate owned a 2005 model, he had a "howler" exhaust (I think it was called). Hell cheap like $300 or something but it made the bike sound pretty mean.

    Hey Grey
I honestly think you've got a nice machine there. The spark plug removal is exactly the same as I had on my SV650, had to loosen the radiator bracket to get to it, pain in the bum!:aggressive:
Once you got her cleaned up she will treat you well. If noise is your thing, you can get a can to fit her, no big deal.
Plugs look fine and that's all I've got to say about that!!
Looks like you got a good battery, so get her on the road and enjoy the ride mate.:thumb_ups:

Time for the tank to get the treatment
I love POs ..... the four screws on the petcock were loose so its been leaking for who knows how long ...... cleaned it up and pulled off the cover to clean inside and the gaskets shrivel up like a cold scrotum ...... !
Put it all back together to flatten the rubber and will pull it apart again in a few days to see how they look.
