On the positive side I made it to Risky's yesterday and Grey's today on Scarlet without major incident, despite a few performance issues. I'll be taking it easy on the ride tomorrow just in case though - I want her intact for the show on Sunday.:D

Thanks @risky for your hospitality, assistance with repairs and the company on the road between Newcastle and Tamworth. Looking forward to the rest of the weekend!

She has so far. The Ninja and the Hyo still seem to be going well too, as are @Linkin and @Grasshopper.

Everyone made it home fine apart from one bloke who melted a piston on his 2-stroke.

I will create a separate thread purely for pics and video once I get back home to Sydney

Well the big weekend is over, and Risky, Linkin and Fred are on their way home. Was good to meet them and I think they had a good time. The ride went well, although we ran a bit short of time, and a miscommunaction at the lunch pub didn't impress. Before kick off.

The boys had a look in my shed after getting back to town. Dinner went down well, very tasty and good value, and the guest speaker did a good job too.
The street show had a bit over 50 entries and plenty of lookers.

A bit embarrassing to have all three bikes I entered win a trophy.
My SL125 for best Honda, the YDS-5 for best Yamaha and the Kawasaki KE175 for best dirt bike. :D

risky, and linkin home to newcastle in one piece.trip went well and risky has a raffle win rxt open face helmet size l for sale. fred got the long distance ward after the risky told the tamworth blokes of his trip.fred was more interested in talking to his girlfriend to leave with risky and linkin. we waited for him at murrundi over a long lunch but he never caught up. trip home took 5 hours with lunch and fuel stop.the legs and backside are sore and linkin rode well.

Major technology fails and minor mechanical trouble but finally made it safely to Tamworth. Full report once battery has charged more.

Just to clarify - it was my phone battery I was referring to. All charged up again now :)

    The technology fails:

My GPS died about 10 km from Newcastle, so I pulled over at a rest area to switch to Google Maps on my phone. Phone battery was going flat too.

@risky called me to check on my progress and I told him I was about 15 minutes away. Got the Bluetooth going with the phone battery on 5% and the phone went completely dead as I was getting into the outskirts of Newcastle.

Pulled up on the side of the road and realised I was stuck without a backup map. On the way into town I'd noticed the dash lights had gone out. While pulled over I noticed I'd also lost power to my tail light.

Killed the engine and checked the fuses - sure enough, a 15 Amp one had blown. Fitted the spare - all good. Went to start the bike and the choke refused to play nice. Flooded and the cable housing was a bit broken.

Nobody seemed to notice the stranded motorcyclist by the side of the road either - even other motorcyclists didn't stop. I proceeded to swear at the world in general at this point.

Will continue the story later, as @Linkin wants to head off to Sydney shortly.

So what i learned here is to always carry an oldfashioned road-map with me when i go riding around, and maybe to charge my phone before i head out :)

A great weekend all round ...... good to meet up with forum members for a ride, a drink and talk some bullshit.

The Fizz performed well enough and managed to get thru the ride and the highlight was leaving the Risky rickshaw in its wake at one point ..... maybe his choice of fuel slowed him down ..... :fuckyou:

Thanx to Murdo for his museum tour ...... he may have to put on an extension to fit in all the trophies from Sunday ..... well done mate  .......... and a special thanx to him and his VJMC cronies for a well run weekend :thumb_ups:

Heres a few photos ..... Linkin took some GoPros of the ride and will post a few highlights after a bit of editing .

How many bikers does it take to fit a seat??

tech head fred and linkin left for sydney at 9.25am.have checked the room and nothing left including 50 dollar notes under the pillows.lol.grasshopper ,your son was given instructions to ring you when he gets home. i will ring fred at 6 to see he is home. my blinkers had a curse put on them sunday morning but when got to newcastle worked again. the boys got up earlier than me this morning. blame it on formula 1.somebody does not eat their greens but the steak and chips went down well. fred missed out due to delay and hungry sods thinking kitchen might close.
