I have contained me excitement For long enough. I recently brought @kiffsta 's Dailey rider the hanspree mc22. And she has just passed blue slip. Sadly! Tho I managed to or the guy doing the testing managed to get a nice screw stuck in the wheel. Pictures will be up when I get home. So back to the bike shop and get a repair. $85 dollars later. Geez they sting you.
for everyone who has not seen this bike look------------>http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?showcase/1990-honda-cbr250rr-mc22.87/
Huge. Just in case someone is not aware: Swan Insurance offers a Tyre & Rim insurance. Last time, I paid $430 for 3 years of insurance. It covers unlimited puncture repairs, up to 2 new tyres a year, up to 1 new rim a year. And it includes the tow truck. I was commuting for several years, and got a puncture at least once a year. If you have a puncture like this one, you can still fix it. But if the damage is near the side of the tyre, or you already have a repair near the puncture, you can't fix it any more. Your only option is (at least it should be) a new tyre. This is the beauty of the insurance. Last time I needed help, got towed, new rear tyre ($440) mounted and balanced. Didn't pay a cent. The bill was for $490, more than what I paid when I took the insurance. On a 250cc, the tyres are much cheaper. But you're covered for 3 years. Including damage to the rims. There are caps though, $500 per tyre and $1000 per rim. Worth checking it out.
Ok so here are my plans for this girl(if i ever stop riding her) 1. Up side down fork conversion from my spare set of ZXR forks 2. aftermarket exhaust 3. quick turn throttle 4. braided lines 5. levers 6. name her (open to suggestions) I already have 3,4,2 and 1 just a case of installing them...
her name is gonna be Hildagarde hanspree..lol.. In Scandinavian mythology Hildegard was a Valkyrie sent by Odin to escort battle heroes to Valhalla.
i had no choice.. cant ride on a flat tyre.. plus they are Pirelle Diablo Rosso with only 600km on them... so worth it in my opinion
She now has security and SHE maybe a HE with this hanging of the side of her.. better size gauge of the screw
Congrates on your new toy! That insurance sounds a good deal. My question is ,can you remove the screw/nail and put in one of those puncture repair sticky wick thing just to get home od tyre shop or are they to dangerous for a bike? sorry for jumping topic...Ken
Punturces are common place out here when you go offroad. I've had good success with those wicks on a quad. You can use two together on a bigger hole. I reckon they'd be enough to get you home.
