    Hi All,

It's that time of the year again and as we have a few more Melbourne-based 2fiftycc members it might be worth trying to organise a ride down to the island for us quarter litre folks.

As always, all bets are off if it rains.

Sunday is normally manic, but I was thinking Saturday might be a good option. A popular (and convenient) meeting spot is the Pelican Cafe in Tooradin. It's about an hour from the circuit and you can get a good coffee and bacon & egg role (hmmm...bacon!).

Let me know if you're interested and we'll try to firm up something in the next couple of weeks. This will be a 2fiftycc "event" so don't bother showing up on your Vmax or Busa.

I'll keep an eye out for other 2fiftycc riders. I'll take some pics and post them next week. Weather forecast is now saying 22 and cloudy on Sat and 20 and possible rain on Sun. the Queensland folks might want to bring a jumper!

keep a look out for a mate of mine Warren "sumo" and his missus sopkie. "sumo" will be riding a 1989 GSXR 750 (white and red) and Sopie will be on a blue VFR400.

Hmmm, hearing petty crap like that makes me not want to bother making my bike P6 Production legal... There is a GSXR250 racing there this weekend in Proddy spec, I'm gunna get in touch with the rider and find out what the go is with what can and can't be changed to keep it legal. I've Googled but can't find conclusive info. If you have to run stock fork springs and shock (which I think is true) that sounds like a recipe for woeful, borderline-dangerous handling! I can understand Simon's frustration but either way he is still at the pointy end in front of a lot of 2-strokes, and that is plain awesome riding no matter what class :neo:

It's killing me seeing so many of my fellow Tassie racers over at the Island doing well and I'm at home watching it play out on Computime :'( I WILL be there next year!!!!

Not a huge number of 4-stroke 2fiftycc bikes here. If you love 2-strokes...you're in heaven!

Didn't talk to anyone, but took plenty of pics. Racing was very good (as usual). Some of those open class bikes are scary fast.

Simon can ride and that CBR of his is plenty quick. To keep up with those 2-stroke Yamahas is worthy of high praise.

Boydie, That GSXR250 is run by the guy who owns Victorian Motorcycles Wreckers (Keith). I think one of his guys runs a ZXR250 in the same class. Ignore if you already knew this.

Some pics from the Island. Sorry about the quality. I have many more static shots, but they're not of 2fiftycc bikes. I might upload some of the better ones. I did throw in a Egli-Vincent in this lot.

The rule I ran afoul of is that you can not change the external appearance of the forks - you can put cartridges in if you want - but the external appearance must remain standard. I have aftermarket springs in mine, that is all legal. Come and play :)

Ah K. That's good news as I'm currently rebuilding my stock forks with springs from a Gladius 650 as they are too long for my RGV forks. What's the go with rear shocks though? Surely they don't expect you to run a 25 year old shock which may be non-rebuildable?
