So I have been speaking of a R6 which will be my next build and is the reason I am selling the ZXR parts... So here is what I will be starting with. She is a 2001 YAMAHA YZF R6... I have multiple fairing parts waiting for me at my brothers place on the northside i just need to pick up... i have another set of forks here that needs to be rebuilt to replace the busted ones on the bike... i have already replaced the headlights and fairing stay as they were broken in crash.. the bike is a repairable write off so i can get the title cleared once she is back together,,

only real issue im having is the carbs drain under throttle so I think i will need to run them through the ultra sonic cleaner... biggest thing i remember about this bike,,, dam its fast

so today i got new plugs and oil in her and decided to see if she would run..
    aaannnnnndddd SHE LIVES!!!!!

the carbs are filthy by the sounds of the revs above 4k... I also managed to lose the bolts that hold the wires to the battery so my girlfriend filled in and help the jump cables to the battery...

ok so update time, The carbs have been cleaned and are waiting to go back on the bike.. I did some research into why I have a heating system on my carbs and this is what i found...

The coolant is supposed to run to the carbs to heat them up so they're not so lean. Yamaha does this in order to pass emissions, they set the bikes up so they're really lean to pass emissions but have coolant run to them so that as the bike warms up, it richens the mixture slightly.

Don't know who true this is but wow.. I am sure a major bike company would not do something so sneaky to pass standards *cough cough
