Revolver, good on you for getting out there and having a crack. It's great fun. Traction must have been very good. Don't bother doing a burnout and don't let your tyre pressure down either. If you're wheelstanding too much then you have too much traction or you need to ride the clutch a bit more. As for the coughing and farting...I expect your diagnosis is correct,,,water doesn't combust!

Thanks for sharing your outing at Willowbank, sadly the weather of late has not been on your side.
Bike sounded great and you seemed to be having a ball so GOOD ON YOU!! :thumb_ups:
I agree with @Frankster, water and motorcycles are not always good partners.

Traction was VERY good. It was really sticky under my boot when staging and that sticky that when I was walking from the bike to the tower to pick up the slip, that my boots were still sticking to the concrete and road!

As for the wheel stands I'm pretty sure your right. I dumped the clutch the first time, and slipped it a bit more the second. I don't do burnouts, (cause it would probably end badly for both me and bike) so there was no extra heat in the tyre.

I put it down to stickier track and more acceleration thanks the 15t front sprocket.

    Was pretty awesome though.

Revolver, just watched your onboard videos and I have another "wheelstand" theory for you. It looks like the rain was very soon after your run. Atmospheric engines are affected by relative altitude and storm systems are normally accompanied by a dramatic drop in barometric pressure. Now, I'm not a weather girl or a scientist, but I believe the drop in barometric pressure means that there is more oxygen in the air and that it is "pushed" a little more into your carbs and power increases. To get the optimum power you would need to change your jets to take full advantage of the extra pressurised air. That might explain the bike wheelstanding e.g. more power.

Anyone who knows more about what I'm suggesting should chime in as I'd hate to speaking a load of smelly stuff and misleading Revolver and others on here.

Now that would give some clue as to why it felt a bit more snappy. Also a small drop in temps would help as well. That's why they run the winternationals in, you guessed it, winter, because with colder temps engines make more power.

I wouldn't be worried about pressure drops in the weather or rejetting to suit cold air, just get out there and ride it and enjoy the buzz.

Agreed, my bike apparently runs 10.7 in optimal condition with a lighter and better rider then me, I reckon i could get a low 11 if i can improve reaction and 60ft times

Reaction time doesn't count towards your ET.

That's why even though I had my slowest ET on my last run the last time, I still got my fastest ET.

The last bit is the most import for a quick time...60ft. If you can cover that in good time you've set yourself up for a good ET. RT only matters when you're racing the guy in the other lane. As Murdo said...have fun.

If you can get a normally geared 2fiftycc to cover 60ft in under 2 seconds you're on your way to a bloody great ET!

Spare a thought for the bloke who rode all the way from the Gold Coast to only get one run in!

On a bike running note, drained fuel & carb bowls, flushed lines filter and pump, starts and runs again fine.....

Tank is fine, it's the lock though doesn't quite seal right. It's never been an issue before due to me ALWAYS having my tank bag on.

I don't want to change it because my other one has a different key and I CANT STAND having different keys for the same vehicle. And I tried to change the locking mechanism for the tank & went "Nup, I'll just put this one in"

Good on you? How much were they?

See, it's a slippery slope..... You just wanna go back.

I wasn't looking to go back, but I couldn't stand to run that 15t sprocket another week, or change it out then change it back in.....

But the chance to reclaim top spot on the 250cc hall of fame is pretty tempting. Considering that I still ran a 15.7 and same traps MPH with my best run on 17t with the launch easily costing me over a second. In my editing suite, the counter on all 3 camera angles says over 2, but your moving forward that whole time, so closer to 1.

    I have a proposition.

Could redo on this Wednesday coming up, so that way I don't have to do the sprocket shuffle, I get to see what she can do for real, you get your fix in the fortnight & @kiffsta and possibly @Phil could come....
