Was given a lead on this through a mate. 1988 MC-19. Looks to be 99% complete but has not run for a number of years, so will need a lot of cleaning/rebuilding. I tipped the old stale petrol out of the tank and put 1/2 litre of cheap motor oil in and rolled around. Also poured a capful down each carb throat. Has the usual leaking fork seals, seized brake cylinders, broken tabs on plastics, etc. 88,000Km on clock, so engine is probably well worn.
Plan to do little bits over the next two years so that it will be ready for historic rego in 2018.

They are some sort of restriction aren't they? I seem to recall something about adding resistors to the light's circuit or the speedo.

Nope, don't believe that for a moment. It will be transformed in typical Dr Murdo style and schedule.

I picked this up from Gumtree and the bloke took to my daughters to store until I got there last week to pick it up. Picked up some bits off Kiffsta, but will probably need a few more. CBR start 008.JPG CBR start 009.JPG
I did a compression test on it and it is stuffed (between 35 to 45 psi in all cylinders, got to a heady 55 wet) so lifted it out in preparation for a strip down.

After talking with Frankster last week, I am thinking that this one can be a drag bike hack and donate some of it's good bits to the good one.

Brought the little 'Hurricane' in to my place today to give it a clean up ready for the street show next Sunday. Just going to clean it and be a static display, will work on getting it running next year. Fixed the leaking forks by draining the oil/sludge out. Will try to get time to touch up some scratches with the airbrush and give it a polish.

Took the wheels off the spares bike to be powdercoated white, then will fit some new tyres, bearings and brake disc and fit to this one. The wheels and 50% worn tyres can go to the drag bike. The drag bike has a non scratched muffler that will be fitted to this one too.
