Hi Andy. Thanks for the link. Via the pictures that i have of a belly pan fitted to a SRX the , pan that's listed on ebay just doens't look right , what do you think. Hi Sharky.Thank you for the contact details, have text him but as yet have had no reply. Stay tuned.
Yep... its not 100% correct as the ad says it is done in a Ducati Style.. Hopefully you get some good news out of the Nth Coast contact.
Yes buddy iv'e received a reply , no part i'm afraid !. Oh well. Another silly question for yous'e guys that have the stock handle bars fitted , could someone please measure the over width of the bars (one side to the other side )and the mirrors for me as i'm trying to find out how hard would it be get the bike inside the house via standard doorways. My little SRX is still travelling in comfort so i need some measurments, hope the driver has put the heater on i'd hate the bike to get a cold !. Anybody have some spare fuel tanks that still have the Yamaha emblem fitted that they would like to sell if so please PM me .
Hard for me to measure anything as it is all in bits and mine would now be based on the FZR250... not sure if they are wider. It doesn't take much to sort though... they are clipons so the removal of 2 socket head cap screws and loosening the clamps on the bars and they can be turned in to allow it through the door.... easy as. Good luck with the emblems... maybe check megazip etc... I think they showed them but not sure if they are still available. Not sure where it is coming from but I think it will need to get used to cooler weather living in Glen Innes
What model/year SRX is your's, is it an 87 SRX250T ? There's a couple of nos one's on Ebay http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/yamaha/outboard/Y-36Y-24161-00-00.html http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_...X36Y-24161-00.TRS0&_nkw=36Y-24161-00&_sacat=0 Fender decal- 99231-00020-00 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/YAMAHA-N...AMAHA-EMBLEM-99231-00020-00-120-/181169139620 This guy does repro decal kit's, and going by the first listing above the tank decal is the same as the 84-85 FJ1100 He might be able to just do a pair of them for you http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FJ-1100-...402510?hash=item3cec97b30e:g:Ub4AAOSwofxUa7sP
Hi Andy. I'm afraid it does get a bit cold up this way. But have carpet in the garage and everything that runs on petrol is always covered over with sheets, even the mulcher lawn mower !. Hi my67xr.Thanks very much for finding all of the parts for me.So glad that iv'e found this forum as the members are more than happy to assist help finding gear, pretty impressive. Another mayday call. Regarding the round Yamaha tank emblems ( (tuning forks), if someone still has them fitted on the fuel tank could you please measure the O.D for me please.
Hmmm have a look at this link... these might help you. http://www.jauce.com/search/Yamaha+Tank+Emblem
Hi Andy Buddy , is there anything that you don't know or where to find regarding the SRX ?.Would any of you SRX 250 parts squirrels out there would happen to have a spare exhaust O.E system that they would like to sell, the one fitted to my bike is the same as picture below , would anyone know what brand or even better where i can find one if an O.E system cant be found that i don't have to walk the streets to pay for it !.
Saw you were looking for brochure's on the SRX on gumtree Owner's manual for US, (expensive) http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Yamaha-S...837085?hash=item281f6b991d:g:7zEAAOSwDN1UUHDp http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/YAMAHA-S...721318?hash=item568ec8f226:g:0JkAAOSw3YNXcVLK That muffler look's similar to a Honda VTR250 muffler 2005/2006 The SRX250F84/86 had metal badge's on the tank The 86 had a different style muffler 86 model 84/85 model
Thanks for the info.Regarding the add on Gumtree , thought i'd list both models just in case someone had them out there. Via the number on my SRX it's listed as 1985 Model , so the alloy muffler fitted is an O.E system ?.
Haha not quite... I have been looking for bits since Feb or March I think so you get to know how to search after a while. There is plenty of choice on Jauce but they are all locked items and not able to be shipped. The exhaust is a one piece job and most have either been tampered with (cone removed and glass packing removed) or they are corroded and or damaged from falls... you may be better to look for an after market clamp on item that is similar... I know it isn't Original but it is an option... Same with the tank Emblems... you will find it very hard to get Original ones... so repro's may have to do. When does the bike arrive?? Where is it coming from and are they pushing it or is it in a truck...lol Pics needed
Morning Andy .The bike has arrived via the transport company the other night. In the pictures it didn't look to bad BUT in real life it's a different story , but i suppose a lot of riders just think it's a bike and has no value , for me i look after every thing i own.Story of the bike if it is true hasn't been fired up for many years , battery dry so filled it back up with acid /fresh oil etc but in the end i got it going and it sounds pretty good for an old bike and surprising every thing works .Reached out to a good mate that has done engine work for me in the past and he really knows these Yamaha engine backwards so will be sending the motor to him for a freshen up while the panels / frame is being re-painted but this wont be happening for a fair while.I'll try to gather the parts that's needed so when the engine /panels etc are back all will be ready to assemble.Tool kit and rubber strap is missing so they will be on my shopping list when money allows , but main parts will be bought first.Sorry no pics as yet , if the sun appears to day i'll try to get a few to post here.Iv'e found a slip on muffler on the web but will try to repair what i have first to keep the budget under control when ever possible.
Sounds like you are on top of it all...let me know if you need any parts... I have some left that wont be going onto the bike... bits like throttle twist grip, the black plastic vent covers under the tank... the rear cowling... pillion foot pegs and brackets, rear sets... I think that is about it...lol That muffler looks OK... for $79 it is pretty good... I might get the for mine... I was going to try and adapt the FZR muffler but it is quite long...
Hi Andy Thanks for the offer, yes please for the parts will need some of them for sure as mine is pretty sad.Can you PM / email me with the asking price and i'll arrange payment(s). Could you hang onto all of the parts until we make contact please.
Shot you a PM... but forgot to ask a favour while doing it... Any chance you can take the Fuel Cap off and measure it up for me... Specifically to see if it is the same as the measurements in this ebay ad for a YBR125 cap. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Fuel-Gas...456887?hash=item2caeeef4f7:g:jTcAAOSw-KFXedvZ I have an FZR250 cap that fits beautifully but the tank recess must be deeper as it sits up a good 10 mm or more
Hi. Received the PM. No problem at all for measurements, will do that first thing early tomorrow morning and get back to you.
I thought that this muffler looked the best i can find at the moment. But have not measured anything to see if it would fit.Had a budget blow out just getting the little SRX to it's new home.So if you do try it out please keep me up to date , as my muffler is pretty sad and looks like i'll have to replace it if no one chimes in with a S/H one for sale.
I would be going for a better muffler than that, some of those cheap pit bike muffler's are pretty loud You can get some nice looking exhaust's from Aliexpress, a lot of them come with brand name badge's/sticker's too for around the same price as the pit bike one's https://www.aliexpress.com/item/YM-...091141.html?s=p&spm=2114.01010208.6.10.9B2yqK https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Mot..._1&btsid=8f41fc2a-8ca0-44a1-aef6-fc245fec39d6 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Uni...id=95d8012e-b1dc-4d0f-84dc-9193a5793e76&tpp=1 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Uni..._1&btsid=00f03569-7e58-4f83-af2f-e3d29c3a0bd8 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3-S..._1&btsid=00f03569-7e58-4f83-af2f-e3d29c3a0bd8 https://www.aliexpress.com/wholesal...e=glo&g=y&SearchText=muffler+yoshimura&page=4
Well spotted there my67xr. I personally like the look of the second listing.I wonder if this muffler will unleash all of that untamed HP bottled up inside the SRX huge power plant.
When i was looking for part's for you the other night i found one for sale and they listed it as having 76hp, typo for sure lol Most of those muffler's are an easy fit just requiring some basic welding to fit them. Some come with loop's to weld to your pipe, so you can hook the spring's on and make them a slip on fit, that way they're removable if needed
