After a hectic week getting all the plastics repaired, scratches/chips touched up and a couple of coats of clear on it is starting to look a bit better.

Today I bought the long 8mm socket required to get the inner head bolts out and got the head off. Looks to have been burning a lot of oil. So much for the PO's saying it was running good, only had about 50psi wet in cylinders when I checked it.

    Very clean in side.

I guess the PO's meaning of "good" differs from yours. He might think a cloud of blue smoke following him down the road is fantastic!

Looking at the water jacket and outside combustion area of cylinder head, someone has used radiator stop leak/head gasket fix in a bottle type stuff... Keep an eye on the water pump or replace it with a spare.

Everything will need to have a good clean after I get the cases apart.

Cases split and rods and crank out. Cleaned, measured, honed, cleaned again and ready to start rebuild.

I like to use a drop of straight STP oil on the bearings when fitting cranks/rods etc.

Amazing how small the rods are (and I don't have big hands).

Have fitted the powdercoated wheels, new brake bits (master cylinder, braided lines, seals, fluid), forks rebuilt (seals, oil, etc) and 14mm spacer fitted on top of springs, Pirelli Rosso 11 tyres, new standard levers, etc.

Have bought a 30 metre roll of 7mm plug wire from Pomland for this and a few other bikes. Worked out at $4.25 per metre, so cheaper than buying short bits here. Will be for sale to any members who need new wires at cost.
Now I have the wire and new caps, it is just the screw on piece to the coil I need.

Yep. The locals wanted $6.00 per me. Time I bought enough for what I want it was cheaper to get a roll from the Poms.

Out of curiosity @Murdo, I wonder if the inline wire connector caps (below) would have worked if Kiffsta didn't have one?

Maybe, I didn't think of that. I have a few assorted ones here I tried but nothing fitted.

I was going to use these black aftermarket fairings on the track bike and was having trouble getting them to line up with the engine and mounts. Looking at my other CBR confirmed that they are from a MC22, and would no way fit on the MC19. So anybody want them? Throw me an offer.
They are rattle can flat black but are not split and have all mounts still intact. Slight damage to the bottom of the left side but other wise all good. Screen is good but will need the edging glued back on in a couple of places.
Located in Tamworth. Dirt and grease included.

Put the new Litetek seal kit in the carbs today.
Would like to thank Blair for the forethought of putting in the little (tiny) washers for the idle mixture screw, particulary for old fumble fingers like me who last saw the original one disappearing down the back of the bench. Thanks mate. :thumb_ups:
