Rode mine to work and back... It's nice having so many awesome/brand new bikes to oggle, including the dream bike (Daytona 675 in red). So many S1000RR's, BMW GS's, and KTM's.

My first pay check since being back to work. And where did it go I wonder???
Yep the Rosso 2 has steel showing. Lol. Got a Michelin pilot radial fitted for $165. So I was not complaining. Sadly the Rosso 2's were a extra 20 but I could not fit it in the budget.

Anyone got any magical tricks to get the airbox back on the carbs? If I put the boots on the carbs first they slip off when trying to get them into the airbox, if I put them on the airbox first I can't push them onto the carbs as they just squash back into the airbox. I'm thinking it would nearly be easier to get pods and figure out the rejetting than get this airbox back on.

Have you tried hot water or a hot air gun ?

I took the FZR out for a ride tonight and met up with a few other's, around 500 or so
It was a meet for Adelaide Motorcycle Scene off Facebook

There wasn't another FZR250 there, i had 4 or 5 people ask me about my bike.
There were quite a few 80's/90's CBR250RR's, i talked to a few guy's, a couple had ZXR250's at home broken down
I have never cruised with so many bike's, at a couple of set's of light's we stopped at there would have been more than 100 bike's lined up waiting to go
I could hardly hear the FZR running while were were riding, there were so many noisy bikes

Well nothing quite as exciting as above... all I have done is buy an R6R rear shock on ebay...A$34 was a good price I think... The seller wanted A$87 postage so I have taken it with local freight to my freight forwarding service.. I know once they have it, I will get it in 4 to 5 days for a bit less..So all up around $120 so in the right range I think.

Put a bit of rubber grease on the carb mouths and put hand inside airbox and push on back of rubbers.

Been back working on the shark boat this week so it was good to see my bike for the first time in daylight for awhile, even if I did have the wobbly boots on, the waters around the gold coast are slightly safer aswell :thumb_ups:

Took the ZXR for a fang through the national park early this morning, it goes great, but got to sort that flat spot out & it needs an aftermarket exhaust. They're a nice nimble bike, the upside down forks are great. Starting scraping my toe sliders through some of the tight corners... got to remember to keep toes up on the pegs.

Got back & busted out the inox, it was badly needed on the throttle cables, throttle tube and clutch cable, all the pivot points, key barrels and seat latch mechanisms.

Hmmm well I found what the VTR won't warm up.
The first pic is the thermostat I bought and the second one is the one that came out.
I am now wondering if there is an overheating issue and they butchered the thermostat to keep it cool.
There is no milky oil but I will go get some coolant and see what happens I guess.
I guess if there is an issue it will be the rear cylinder head.

Hmmm not sure what temp the VTR should get to before the fan comes on but she got 1/2 way between mid and the red zone and nothing... I earthed out the connection to the fan and it came on.. but then the engine shut down and wouldnt run any more...no idea why... unless of course there is water in the rear cylinder putting out the fire..

I will let it cool down and see if it runs later... grrr

Massively tidied up the workshop today after selling a number of parts. I ran out of space so I had to start hiding stuff under the racking (out of sight, out of mind eh?). I used to store all my parts in two massive plastic boxes. A nightmare too, for finding things. So now I have almost everything in smaller containers with a piece of paper of what's in there for easy keeping. All of it is to go though, so if you want anything NSR250 or CR125 (and maybe some other bikes) let me know.

I have made a post in the for sale section.

I also got the NSR off the bike table because what tends to happen is I put it up there and never work on it. So it's on two stands now and I'll be busily trying to finish off the tank to get it on the road. I bought a 03 CR250 as my main project but I think I'll need to new cylinder for it (and head too) so the NSR is back on as the main one!
