    I'll play!
I have a DR350 (had a few) and thought about cafe racering it, so I went looking for inspiration:

Ain't nobody got time for DAT! But it does look pretty good. Better than the naked/street fighter scooter idea I had.

The guy that built that must have a really ugly girlfriend as his taste is in his arse

Nothing wrong with a mod or a cafe when its done right ... a bike originally built as a race replica/sports bike is NOT a good candidate for whateva that 2KR is supposed to represent

As we have discussed before here the origins of 'cafe racer' has been lost in the endless hipster and 'build sheds' builds .... just like the american chopper fad .... flogged to the nth degree :headbang:

    :D

    real cafe racers ....

Anything without a front and rear guard is not a motorcycle, it is just a show bike. Cutting the entire rear section off a bike and just leaving a seat hanging in space is, IMHO, not only ridiculous but hideous as well. Call me old and cranky but new generation 'cafes' suck as does the transformer toy styling of all the modern bikes that are covered with endless bits of pointy plastic that have no function at all. Some of the pics here remind me of that video that @kiffsta posted of all the butchered bikes. We need to find that again.

That's progress :) well actually......I worked in the motorcycle industry through most of the 80's it was the same then... I had to unfix a few ugly ducking in my time...and we had the yuppies to contend with blah! Id rather drink shite home brew with a bunch of smelly hipsters any day, than spend 10 min listening to a yuppie prattle on about how good things are :D
like em or hate em the new breed are keeping it alive and it was just as bad back then as it is now...just easier ;)

Well there is a voice of reason in the wilderness, Wozza. I guess I will have to wait for this 'fashion' to pass and hope for the best.

I've had the same thought's for the last couple of week's too, especially since i came across these cheap plastic's on gumtree.
These part's will be a bit of a project in case i get some spare time,
i won't modify the FZR though, the plastic's will be modified to fit so i can put my bike back to original easily enough.
Aftermarket screen, front upper fairing mount, seat and pillion delete panel ordered from china.

James T. Kirk's (before he became a Captain) magnetic wheel bike was interesting. Not so much for the magnetic wheel idea (I think someone has already done this), but because it has a good old-fashioned "Key" to start it. Great, in the future you can travel at Warp speed and be teleported to where ever, but you still need a key to start a bike!

I think the key idea was so that he could throw them to the new owner.
