LiteTek Odd Titanium Fasteners

    As part of my R4 project and other bits and pieces, I will be adding various odd Titanium fasteners to our stock. These are not standard (JIS or DIN) parts but specifically made for purpose. As an example the bolts that hold the footpegs on many Yamahas, part number 90109-103A9, are not a standard item. These and the two bolts that hold the mount to the frame I need to complete my Ti foot controls and I plan to sell those as well. I don't expect that many people will want the bolts, but the foot control assemblies I hope will be a popular item. Can be found on the Yamaha parts page http://litetek.co/ReplacementPartsYamaha.html

    These are the footpeg mounting bracket bolts, Yamaha part number 90110-08066

    Are these coated with anything? If not, how do you recommend fitting them? I used some titanium bolts to fit some brake discs once, the metal galled so badly on the aluminium of the wheel that they'll never come out again..

    Yes, you have to use an anti sieze when fitting. I am also looking into getting them coated.

    And just to give a little more information, the coloured anodizing that you see on many titanium fasteners is not a good idea.

    "The anodic treatments used had the greatest tendency for seizure, in some cases greater than that of the bare nuts used as a standard of comparison"

    There is a form of anodizing that is suitable, known as Type 2 (AMS 2488), but it is grey. See http://anodizetitanium.com/titanium-anodizing-tips-and-tricks/ams-2488-titanium-anodizing/
