Time I replaced the fuel filter on the fizzball Whats everyone using on their rocketships these days?
The generic SC4F filter from supercheap has worked OK for me http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/Product/Generic-Fuel-Filter-SC4F/2186?menuFrom=1021647
Yea I think thats wat I have now I was thinking that maybe as the whole thing is quite big that it might struggle in the low revs and starting on the FZR ... mine specifically .... the factory one is pretty skinny
I tried a Ryco one of similar size but couldn't get any fuel through it even though the fuel pump was screaming. They're also opaque so you can't easily see if they're clogged. If someone knows of a smaller version of the supercheap one, post a link
Don't you have an ultrasonic cleaner? whack it in there for a while These look ok, are 8mm in/out , $4.30ea inc delivery http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Chrome-U...d=100009&rk=7&rkt=10&mehot=ag&sd=271652931299 Otherwise Malossi make a good one for the Ducati's, 7mm in/out, they sell for about $10
Do u have a link to the Malossi one? Is this the Ryco u tried @Linkin .... http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/Product/Ryco-Fuel-Filter-Z675/337903
No haven't tried that one, might give it a go... the SC4F is a bit big for the ZXR due to the airbox.
That Ryco Z675 is to suit 5mm fuel hoses ^ Z676 suit's 6mm hoses but is a pretty small filter http://www.malossistore.com.au/en/family/FUEL-FILTERS-OIL-FILTERS?F=03
The Epman fuel filter's look alright, and come with a 100 micron element for $17 The 8mm barb's will be a slightly tighter fit I have a similar (bigger) Moroso one on my 67 Fairmont, it's been there for about 30 year's and is still using it's original o'ring's https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Epm...lgo_pvid=339e491f-dc35-44f0-990c-658aefd4572f Or this one look's alright too, 60 micron element for same price ^ https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Rya...lgo_pvid=17894cfe-ac5f-4c8b-a4f9-f4aa9ba010ee
Got a couple of these .... seems just fine ... just need to extend the fuel line so it sits in the holder properly https://www.thirdgear.com.au/universal-glass-fuel-filter/
I heard Repco had some motorcycle fuel filter's from a friend today Went down and asked the guy behind the counter, he said they only carried the large Ryco universal one's. I told him a friend had bought one at his shop during the week for around $6 so he went and had a look. He came back with one of these universal filter's, they suit 6mm hose or 8mm hose ( just trim off the 6mm section to use 8mm hose) The quality doesn't look too bad, they aren't as flimsy as the cheap china filter's, these are made in Taiwan and are covered by the Repco 12 month/ 20,000km warranty against defect's He put the part number into the computer to give me a receipt and it came up they were on sale for $4.20 so i bought one to try out on the FZR Think they are on sale this month with a heap of other part's ? Dimension's of the filter are 82mm long on the 8mm section, and the clear section of the filter around the paper element is 30.2mm (about 38mm around the thickest section) I am going to get my local bike shop to order me in a couple of the Malossi fuel filter's too, they are about the same price as the Repco one's atm and look good too. Malossi 8mm fuel filter part number- 03 1381, 8mm, 18mm o/d, 61mm length, 114 micron
That Malossi would be a bit small for anything over about 100cc at full throttle. Go with the Repco bigger one, they are what I use for 250cc and have no problems.
Trimmed the Repco filter down this morning after breakfast while waiting for Aldi to open I want the Malossi filter's for my IT200 and 190cc pitbike, the inlet size is bigger i/d than the repco, it's just the filter element is smaller so will need to change it more regularly
Found these 8mm filter's today too, Alloy/glass for $4.36 inc delivery http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Chrome-U...122284?hash=item3d4127a52c:g:l4oAAOSwHnFV1tsP
Good find. My second CBR needs a new filter and I like the fact that they can be unscrewed and cleaned.
Yeah i think they look like they've been made a bit better than the chromed muck metal one's with the screw in barb's
