So... test ride time today, all ready to go. Or so I thought. The fuel pump said "F&$^ YOU, I'm part of a fizzer - bite me!"

And so... one step back (again)...

They're different fuel pumps... but... maybe that might work? Does it really matter the size etc i wonder?

I think the whole idea of having a pump is to overcome the problem of the downdraft carbs being easy to flood and damage the engine. Placing a low pressure pump below the carbs is a safety measure. At least that is my take on it.

That plastic if it's robust enough and doesn't crack may accept a tap so you can get an air type brass nipple and replace the broken part.

If it's gone brittle though it may just fracture

Should of checked my spares box :commando:

Never even thought of it... had a spare LOL

I also used JBweld metal epoxy to glue the other one back together and it seems to be holding so it will become an emergency spare for now.

    Road test and... &^$%(*@$&%*(@&%@&$U*(&@*(&%*($&*(%&#*(#&Y&%*(@$&*(@^$Y&*(@&$*(^&@$*(^&

Can't put into words how much my mind is blown this bike is AMAZING...

    More to come for sure.

Sneak peak. Gee these fairings are brittle, took forever to plastic repair them and sand them back. Some great tips from @MashtX and @my67xr so I think things will brush up. Really need to take her for a long ride and clear out the throat, I have also leaned the needles up one notch each due to the fact on a test ride she pumped out a bit of black smoke so was probably running rich. At the moment I can't seem to figure out how to get the choke cable back on, there is this weird bracket that seems to be a mirror image of what it should be.. anyone who can help I will definitely buy a beer because this tetris thing is doing my head in!

I can confirm that Jokers carb fitting is indeed backwards to what it should be

Thankfully I have a spare that I can give him

Test fitting the paint job today. I am trying to find a good balance with the carbies as I think she's still running a bit rich. Test ride soon to find out, just got to finish the clear on the last couple of panels, put the mirrors back on and tighten it all up.

Decals are in the mail too, so that will give the finishing touches. Might get a new tinted screen as well. Pretty excited now, that's for sure.

    It's looking good now :thumb_ups:
You could clear coat it after fitting the sticker kit, help's them last a lot longer

Just when you're getting to the end, I'm sure @MashtX will agree that the fizzer will not hesitate to deliver you another hiccup. Why should I be surprised haha...

So here's the throttle. At first it was stuck about half pull but I managed to get past that by changing the tension on the cables (with the adjusters and also the nuts at the top of the carb). Now it pulls all the way through but "clicks" in the mid range. I can't see to see anything wrong with it, on or off the bike... so I'm a bit puzzled by this one. Any thoughts?

That sounds so strange! It sounds like a sticky something popping on release, but it might just be me but I almost hear a pressure change pop as well.
So something is either restricting the cable motion or the butterfly mechanisms are jamming up.
I'd be taking the carbs off and seeing what their range of movement is like on the bench, then maaaaybe splitting them apart to see what is actually sticking.
Biggest downside to that is likely having to sync them all again

sounds like one of the throttle cables is dragging and the popping off some fixture.. try slacking off one of them a tad...assuming its a push pull cable setup.... oil up the cable where you can and see if that changes the noise
