I'll look at it again but I could have sworn it's a pressfit pin with a spring that goes through the middle...

I've had mine off a couple of time's, i shimmed the spring washer for less gear lever wobble with a piece of coke can, and a second time to fit the new footpeg rubber

Here's a pic from the inside of the frame under the engine looking out at the 8mm headed Allen bolt that hold's the footpeg to the mounting bracket

    20180217_221535.jpg 20180217_221728.jpg

You can see here the allen bolt, this footpeg has been taken off the mount and the bolt fitted back loosely

Ok so took her for a run yesterday, near perfect I was actually really surprised. The tiniest lean tweak at the top end but apart from that feels good through all the rev range and at idle.

The only issue I noticed is that the radiator fan doesn't come on. I know it works - I tested it directly against the battery. Someone's wired in an "override" switch of sorts but it doesn't seem to do anything. The thermostat looked OK to me when I disassembled it before. So most likely due to a wiring issue.

Now putting some tape on to plan some cosmetic styling, should come up reasonably well as the fairings aren't bad they just need a bit of patch work.

My fan only comes on after a long hard ride and when I pull up in the driveway and it sits idling for a few minutes to open the gate for example .... I dont commute in traffic or similar so cant comment on that

Interesting. My other one's fan turned on after the temp just got above half. With this one it has a switch that is supposed to turn it on manually but it doesnt work. Might have to check fuses again.

Spray some wd40 into the switch and turn it off and on a heap of time's, or try bridging the 2 terminal's on the switch to see if it's working
My fan come's on at around 3/4 on the temp gauge, so around 194 degree's C

Check the connection's for corrosion at the fan switch on the thermostat housing, mine had some green corrosion there, also check for a good earth at the thermostat housing

Well I tried the switch, something happened because the fuse popped. After that it was working OK but I pulled the switch out because I didn't want it dangling around... so that's one issue solved. Now to move onto the final painting and prep.

@my67xr are you willing to part with your spare LH footpeg?

Styling starting to take shape. Will come up well I reckon. Hopefully will finiish the painting by next weekend. Apart from the footpeg and some sexy decals from @kiffsta she will be ready to go.

    Yeah no prob's,
i bought it just for the rubber, but then found the nos foot peg rubber's the following weekend which i used instead.
Maybe work out a changeover price, i'll swap you the footpeg with that spare 3LN fuel cap/key if you still have it and i'll pay you the difference?
I only need it for the tiny spring that hold's the key flap shut

Any suggestions on the fastest way to strip paint from rims? I really cbf but they look crap compared to the rest of the bike which is freshly painted so I should really make the effort...

Paint stripper is the quickest way, make sure it's industrial stuff. Get it from an Auto Paint shop, and apply it thick.

    20180303_104955.jpg

Yeah that stuff is good, i'd put it on thicker though
Look's like your rim's will be shiny and clean again, or won't take much to polish up the outer edge's

Anyone want an aluminium racing exhaust? $20 plus postage but does need some repairs, baffle is loose and I think I used JB weld to patch some holes a while back to test but never ended up finishing/using it.
