Yamaha srx 250 1985 model, good little starter bike. Good tyres, runs well, needs carby clean and front break handle. Hasn’t been registered for over 10 years but won’t be a problem still have plate. Its been in storage and has new battery. Not negotiable

    Good tyres after 10 years?
Runs well but needs a carby clean? ... so it doesnt run well !
Front break handle? ... hmm never seen one of them in the parts catalogue

$1200 not negotiable ... for a rusted piece of junk that goes like crap and needs a total overhaul

but it has a NEW battery! :thumb_ups:

    dreamer

maybe for next weekend only she will leave the "1" out of the price

I honestly dont know where people are getting these unrealistic ideas about the value of a "shed" find of a 1980 something SRX250 that doesnt run... tyres are rotted or have more cracks in the sidewalls than a smashed windscreen... and then they dont even try to make it more presentable by cleaning it.. lol
Now if it was a Vincent or Ariel Square 4 that they found in a shed then I would expect the dirt to still be there.. but a Yamaha SRX250???
I am looking at another one with "unspecified damage" that just says " negotiable... I wonder how negotiable...lol

They're just trying to sell their sh&% to some gullible Joe they can word up with the fancy "only requires a new battery to get going, but I don't happen to have one on hand to prove it, sorry".

Most probably don't have any idea what the real value is... I know a guy who is trying to part with an average 3LN1 for $3K... no surprise he hasn't sold it yet.

You could alway's buy a 'Barn Find kit' off ebay and give it a sprinkling of genuine barn dust to give it the look of sitting for year's.

    post-49-0-38805800-1495235387.jpg

    Description

    Barn find kit:

1x 20L bucket of red dust.

    2x cans of spray adhesive.

1x jar of mixed spiders (actual content may vary between kits but should be at least 2x daddy long legs and 2x red backs. Combined packing may save on postage cost but may also halve the spider population due to them eating each other).

1x voucher for a pet store rat (apparently we can't offer actual rats on ebay) (we can call ahead to the pet store though and ensure they are pre-starved for 3 days so he chops into the seat foam as soon as he's released into the car).

    5x used shot gun shells.

1x 30ml jar of liquid pigeon manure.

1x 50ml water bottle with drip nozzle (to add leaking shed effect to dusted surfaces).

1x tyre puncture kit (ok so it's 3" nail but it does the job).

1x set of old spark plug leads (some kits will be 3 different colours, others only 2 depending on stock availability).

    Application process:
In order to add maximum value to your classic car follow these instructions along with your barn find kit:

Step 1) Park car in a garage, shed or if you're lucky enough to find one in Australia an actual barn. (Please don't be one of those fools who tries to call them "Shed Finds" in Australia. Barn Find is the internationally accepted term for any vehicle found in a Shed, Barn, Carport, paddock, field, garage or Tee Pee for an extended period of time).

Step 2) Swap spark leads over with those supplied in kit.

Step 3) Apply spray adhesive to underside of car, suspension, brakes, engine bay and door jams. Within 10 mins throw liberally handfuls of red dust into these areas where it should instantly stick giving that 10 years of farm use look.

Step 4) release 2 spiders inside the car, 1 into the engine bay and the remaining spider onto the diff. (assuming 4 made it to you in working order).

Step 5) scatter shotgun shells around passenger front floor.

Step 6) throw some random bric-a-brac in the boot, a dirty towel, one gumboot, a rusty bottle Jack and a couple of rusty spanners should suffice.

Step 7)Ensure all windows are up and boot closed. Then release rat inside car, closing the door behind you.

Step 8) Apply tyre puncher kit to one tyre (remember only one, letting two down is a rookie mistake and looks like you've staged it, kiss you bidding war goodbye).

Step 9) Evenly scatter remaining red dust over the car. Turn on windscreen wipers once then apply a light final coat of dust.

Step 10) Carefully apply pigeon manure in spots approx 2cm round, be sure to group these in line with overhead beams of the garage.

Step 11) Carefully apply water drops , also following overhead beams or joins in roof sheeting.

Step 12) Get your 12 year old neighbour to take pics of your car and write you a 3 sentence description, be sure to remove all punctuation before uploading your eBay listing.

Now sit back and watch that cash camel ride into town.

Note: Due to high demand, please allow up to 3 weeks for delivery. Also please do not buy if you do not plan to pay for this item. Sellers fees are a killer these days.
We accept PayPal, Bank deposit, Woolworths vouchures, Naked Photos of Betty White or successful purchase leads to actual barn finds...

Be sure to see our other items (Mostly XA XB XC Falcon).

    Question & Answer's
    Q:
Will this kit work for non vehicular items such as washing machines, fridges, old egg cartons and bananas? I have abundance of all these items.

    A:
Hi mate. Sorry for the slow reply. Been out bush collecting more spiders as we ran out. Yes the kit works great for almost anything. For best effect pile as much stuff into your shed as possible. If your short on items just go for a drive during a council collection week and grab some random bits (avoid the metal items, those scrappies can get pretty feisty if they think your stealing their loot AkA denture fund). Grab a few random bits (old tea chests and blanket boxes are always a winner for space fillers). Get everything in the room then apply the kit. Next you'll want to advertise the sale as a deceased estate auction and be sure to show the hint of a tail light (even if it's your neighbors 2009 BMW X5) the meers thought that there could be a car under that rubbish will be sure to see 1000 bidder cards poking out of pockets as punters rummage through your rubbish. A couple of good items will be sure to bring MAXIMUM value due to no one wanted to leave empty handed. Cheers.

    Q:
That's Gold.... Are these kits New Old Stock or reproductions ? Looking forward to your Speedy reply Thankyou Johnno

    A:
Hi Johnno, sorry for the delayed reply. I thought you asked for a seedy reply not speedy. I spent last week baking cookies with Oregano in them and made myself sick (apparently the recipe called for another kind of herb but I have seen that since I was a teenager) . Ive only just been well enough to reply. Were possible we use original items but some parts are more cost effective to buy repro (were all about maximizing the returns on our investments), you have no idea how much can be saved on cage breed spiders. We do have a 100% NOS kit for the HIGH end barn finds like Phase 3s, HK 327s, E49s and P76s. It's around 3x the price but the dust comes from the rafters of the corresponding manufacture production lines (strictly no mixing Mopar dust with Holden dust). Pigeons are also sourced from the same buildings (bugger of a job catching those little flying rats). Cheers

    Q:
Hi mate I'm very INTERESTED in getting maybe two of your barn find mussle car kits, my question is inotice you said they work well on gt falcons, do they work on holdens aswell? As I have a Holden hj panelvan & a 4 door lc torana? Any help would be Great Thanks from magdog adrian

    A:
Mate, it definitely works on Holdens as well. We've got some optional extras available for both the models you've mentioned. Our Shaggin Wagon add-on pack is just $29.95 and includes a lacey G-banger to hang of the rear view mirror, also a thong of the double plugger kind (broken of course) and an old wool blend blanket with some suspicious white stains (don't worry it's just clag glue). The Torrie kit has a pair of Y front undies with a P Broch signature (he's the old Norwegian guy who does our packaging). There is also a couple of old HDT enchanted stickers, put one in the engine bay and the other on the rear window, they have been given a quick wipe with thinners so they look authentically aged. Cheers

    Q:
I notice your listing states for muscle cars. Would the kit be suitable for a 61 model split screen Kombi with rust in the usual places and heaps of original patina? The rust is an easy fix for someone handy with a welder and reproduction panels are readily available.

    A:
Thanks for contacting us. We actually have a special this month for Kombi owners. For just $29.95 extra we're offering some items to make your barnfind Splitty even more desirable. Aside from the regular items you will also receive a withered daisy chain head band, a pair of rainbow patterned flares, 2 (reproduction) tickets to Woodstock (1969, not the one from 2008, we only put those tickets in the late model bettle kit along with a handful of pink pills with smiley faces on them). For a limited time only we have some authentic acid, best slipped to the buyers with a cup of green tea before you take them out to the barn. It's sure to be a spiritual experience that will end in a lucrative sale for you.

    Q:
Hi mate, wondering if there is any chance of having a 1/2 size kit as I only have a pre-war one owner German Harley Davidson with side car? Also do you have any other suggestions for photos as my neighbors are Asian and they keep asking me to take photos! Regards A.Hitler

    A:
Guten Tag, you may be in luck, we've recently had an enquiry from a B. Munro in New Zealand with an old Indian that also wanted a 1/2 kit. So we're happy to split. Unfortunately rat is already on the way to NZ, we were all out of white rats anyway so probably safer for him in NZ (nothing personal). Everything else is easy enough to divide up (you'll get the water dropper in lieu of the rat). In regards to your neighbors, show up naked with dim sims and a video camera. They'll either stop asking you to take pics or you'll have a very memorable night. It's a win win situation.

    Q:
Hi mate are these genuine oem barn find kits or the cheap **** chinese repro import ones?

    A:
Tricky question that one. Some of the dust is OEM collected from the beams of the old Chrysler factory in Sydney, the Pigeon poop however we did get cheap from Shanghai (may have been cheap due to the bird flu infected birds it came from). Spiders are genuine (bugger if we're going to compromise our products with imported spiders, they'd be in awe of a carbied V8 and forgot how to build a web as they'd feel unworthy) only local spiders have muscle car DNA in their little fangs. Rats though are Korean imports, we've found their pallet doesn't like the taste of lucas wiring so they tended to aim for low value items like carpets. Glad to hear you take pride in the quality of the products you put on your vehicles.

    Q:
Will this kit work on a 91 VN Commodore Exec with the 3.8 litre engine?

    A:
Yes indeedilydo. However after paying $495 for the barnfind kit you may not break even on the sale. Whilst I hate to loose a sale you may just wish to go with the $12 turtle wax wash kit so you can still at least get a profit of $483 (assuming it's the vacationer. Otherwise take the best offer over $128). Cheers

    Q:
Gday, any chance of putting together a larger kit as an aircraft hangar find kit.I would require a kit suitable for use on a repro p51 mustang that I wish to prepare for sale.Could you please advise me of the price for a kit that would meet my requirements.

    A:
Certainly mate, I must warn you they aren't cheap. Price of our war craft kit is $3295. It includes several fast growing vines sourced from the Amazon. There is a real skeleton (source is confidential, but let's just saw Harold Holt didn't get taken by a shark). We have a limited supply of WWII flight suits but there is 3 in stock. Our regular dust is included but you'll get 4 bags, the shot gun shells are substituted with 50 Cal shells. The rat is also replaced with a large python that is ready to shed its skin so effectively doubling the impact. For an extra fee we can replicate the cockpit glass in pre-faded Perspex with an array of bullet holes. Cheers Cam

    Q:
I am so pissed off now, just spent $35 on wash an wax and 5 hours washing my car, now I find out it is going to cost $495 to get it back to how it was !!! Can you please cut me a deal if I buy 2 kits ?

    A:
Don't tell anyone else mate. I'm going to cut you in on a little inside secret. Grab yourself a can of WD40 (the cheap brand from the crazy bargain store is fine), give it a good shake and spray it all over the car. Now go find the nearest council car park and cut some mad hoops. She's be looking dustier than a cowboys chaps in no time plus your tires will have that cracked and charred look that normally takes years to achieve when just sitting. If you want the rats, spiders, shoots shells and the whole 9 yards unfortunately you'll have to pony up $440, I'll hang onto the dust. Cheers

    Q:
i nearly clicked 'buy it now' but then realized that the title says 'ride the boom' not 'ride the broom'. This sale isn't for me. - Wicked Witch

    A:
He can also do an antique look broom closest. They come as an MDF flat pack and some mission brown fence paint. Same spiders as the barn find kit, though we stopped supplying the rats in those kits as the mandatory black cat was eating them in transit. Nasty situation, well not for the cats, they were happy as pigs in sh... We did have a customer who requested a couple of bats but they tormented the cat to much so we had to can those as well and have substituted those with a Golden Snitch for those who partake in a game of Quidditch.

    Q:
Is the kit made up of NOS or reproduction parts. I am creating an authentic ‘Bathurst HK Monaro’ barn find. As I am going for top judging points, I can only use original or NOS parts?

    A:
Hi Wardy, The nail is a genuine one owner Zenith brand nail. All supplied rats are virgins (makes their appetite somewhat more vigorous, almost frustrated...) The dust is genuine, created at the dawn of time by the original Big Bang, we refuse to use repro dirt. The spiders are all fairly new hatchlings, never touched a toilet seat as it's hard to keep up with stock and collecting old spiders is slow due to our OH&S officer yelling at us for sticking our bare fingers in all the Bathurst tanks from our own barn finds. The water bottle is a repro sorry, dawn of time canvas bags tend to leak. Shorty shells were original used by Ned Kelly's great nephews barbers neighbor on the first night his daughter had her boyfriend over). The pigeon poop are from well kept homing pigeons. We lace their seed with bad tandoori the night before harvest to ensure only the freshest and most acidic pigeon poop on the market. Spray adhesive is NOS (you try getting it back in the can when used).

    Q:
I don't have a Barn, can you supply.

    A:
Any out building structural will suffice. If you want to give it that more traditional barn feel, you will need to add your own livestock and hay flooring. Alternatively for a more authentic Aussie Barn find you can add half used tins of paint, an old wooden ladder and 3 Malvern Star pushbikes (be sure to remove all chains and at least one wheel). Note a true master will know to add a Victa lawn mower that potential buyers must step over to get in the door.
