Yep.. the bottom one is the one I am getting. I also have a 3m x 3m cheap gazebo with 3 sides.. bought it ages ago to use as a spray booth inside our garage.. This will be easier though.. I can fit all the parts I need to paint in there and you can drop the front down to keep most stuff out..
We will see how it goes I guess.. if it is still windy I might put the gazebo up and put this inside it.. lol To be sure, to be sure.

Arrived home last night after being away for a few days with Work and my DNA Paint has arrived.. I am going to resist temptation and not open up the Spilt Blood can to see the colour in the flesh.. so to speak. Well I am going to try and resist.. at least until tomorrow.

I also ordered a big bore kit for the CB400 as I managed to get a bit of a Discount.. so it will eventually end up being a 466 :)

I picked up a Contour 'moto mounts' pack for my roam 3 camera. Was very hard to find, as they are no longer sold, but ebay came in handy once again. Planning a trackday at eastern creek in the coming months and want to get some good footage. I doubt they will allow the suction mount on the tank, but I'll give it a go.

Planned to use the flat sticky mounts on the swingwarm, but the swingarm doesn't point straight back, unless I go right near the chain adjuster and rear sprocket. A bit iffy. Not a whole lot of options on the ZXR but I'll make do.

I couldn’t resist opening up the Spilt Blood Candy Basecoat.

3 coats of this, with the correct reducer, over a Pure Black ground coat and it will be amazing

The only worrying part is the advise on top of the can

Today certainly isn’t a day to even think of painting as the wind is roaring and gusting here.
Just as well I am not ready.

I finally got around to putting in the new head bearings.
FZR250 seem fits in there nicely
Now I am not sure on the color I have for the lower Triple clamp.

It might not be easy to see in the pics but I am considering painting the lower triple in the same color as the frame. I am just not sure, opinions are welcome.

I am also considering having the front guard gloss black rather than the same color as the tank etc.

Same as the frame would look good.

Hmmm I initially thought that too but I am in 2 minds. That is an easy one to change so it’s not important right now.

I decided today was going to be about doing some blasting of stuff like engine mounts etc and finding a better lighting solution for the blast cabinet.
The crappy fluoro inside just doesn’t cut it as shown in this pic. You can almost see the inside of the cabinet.

    50d490ac2eb9d3b5d7b9da0bbb47fdc8.jpg

I then took 2 LED work lights (20watts each I think) and placed them on top of the plastic panel.
Simply an amazing difference. I can actually see what I am doing.
The next pic shows the difference.

    474db6fb1b5877e759105e337a60d07f.jpg

I did quite a few items, including my Brembo rear master cylinder.

I have tried several times now to clean the rust stains off this reservoir. 2 goes in the ultrasonic cleaner with a water, vinegar and simple green mixture.
Looks like I will need to buy a new one as it just doesn’t want to come off.

You could try RustOff from Bunning's https://www.bunnings.com.au/chemtech-1l-rust-off-rust-remover_p1107356
Or you might have some CLR?

I've had some success bead blasting a couple of master reservoir's too before, just use a low pressure and give it a few quick, light passes across the plastic, if you leave it in one spot too long and it'll start to burn the plastic and turn it brown.
Once blasted i give it a coat of plastic UV sealer for headlight's to give it a slight sheen.

I have tried CLR and it didn’t do anything. It is quite yellowed as well. I will try the bead blast and see what happens.
    Nothing ventured I guess

An old tooth brush and some tooth paste sometimes works too.

@Murdo, so I probably shouldn’t use my other half’s electric toothbrush on it?

I will find an old toothbrush somewhere and give it a go.

Each afternoon this week I've tried get my zxr250 (track day next week, hopefully, if the weather forecast is good). It's been spluttering a bit when revs are up, misfiring when you start throttling up to 4k rpm. We tried to synchronise the carbs to see if it clears the low end issue. But I think I need a smaller pilot jet and leaner needles, but seeing and they are the smallest pilot jets and needles aren't that simple, we put the stock muffler on it. But rather than testing that, we (mechanic mate and me, but this is mostly on me) decided to check valve clearances, replace spark plugs and clean carbies. The carbies happened to fit in the ultrasonic cleaner without separation, and they came up pretty nice. Decided the valves were good enough to leave (aka too lazy), put the plugs in and carbies on with standard muffler and took it for test.
    - No low revs miss
    - No high-revs splutter
    - No loud exhaust
    - Not so much power. Down low is a bit dull, but then it picks up by 8-10k. So it should do. But I'm keeping the carbon cannon, too.

Next to sort the 650 ninja...

Oh, an I put one of those top boxes on my 650:
    IMG_20180816_155221.jpg
It's a cheap version, the larger 51L size, and I put it to the test when I bought a 20kg bag of chook feed and loaded in there. But I mounted it too close to fit a backpack on my back as well, unless I lift the backpack and sit it on the top box. Makes it more difficult to get your leg over the bike, but it has a quick-release platform, so it covers the seat for single-seat rego. $70 delivered eBay special. Just don't look at the mounts; they're a bit crude.

OK, I don't like the zxr stock muffler. The power seems down, and without the rock-concert volume muffler, I can hear all sorts of other noises on the bike. :headbang:

Even though it was freezing even in the Garage I wanted to start on my rims.
After managing to break the bead on the front tyre it is rock hard and no way am I able to fit it to come off.
I straightened out 1 of my tyre spoons. Might have to pay to get them off, buy 2 tyre and have them fitted and get rid of these ones.
So I decided to take off the discs so they can be cleaned up etc.
1 side came off ok even if it had a mixture of Bolts and dome head capscrews.
The other disc I was able to get all Bar 1 out and it just won’t move. They must have used a full bottle of loctite on these things. I need to look up how to get it out, maybe some heat.
I was pleasantly surprised at the condition of the wheel though. The color is pretty much right so all I need to do is some light sanding with fine wet and dry and then get the polishing buffs out.
The rear looks to be good as well.

    IMG_4048.jpg

I also started measuring up the rear shock.
I will put that up from the Mac tomorrow sometime.

I used a cheap butane pencil torch on each disc bolt to break the loctite seal
    https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p...e/286613.html#q=butane+torch&segment=1&page=1

With the tyre's, you need to make sure the bead sit's in the deepest part of the rim so it make's it easier to move around with your tyre lever's.
I normally kneel down on the tyre sidewall as i work my way around.
If you get any sun, that can help make the tyre more flexible, also user a bit of detergent and water on the bead's
