Speaking of CDI's, Ignijet do them as well. I might yet get one and use it with COP.

    Hi Simon
If you use the carbs from your other bike your bike may run rich but at least you will see if it runs consistent and isolate if the problem is gas or spark. On the spark side the basics would include things like failing wires, switches or connectors in the ignition circuit. Things like side stand switch, neutral switch and clutch switch. Damage to the wires often occur where the wiring pivots or moves, like going up to the handle bars and around the neck of the frame as well as at the connector the wire joint.

Better all round sums it up..throttle response notably better..but your not looking at huge gains..I think the set up time on the dyno paid the most dividends..but that's probably true of any carb set up. Will try and dig out the dyno charts as its easier to see..there better pretty much everywhere but 'better' is about 2-3hp..a better carb (in my opinion) but that might be biased as I'm looking at the slides/ needles/ emulsion tubes on 3 banks of bdst's and all are displaying wear, one set off an 11k (Km) bike and there stuffed. The design looks to wear prematurely - bad design me thinks. I didn't know about this issue until I read the posts on here - thanks to everyone for pointing me in the right direction, thumbs up to you too!! Got a quote back from webike £423 for all the carb stuff I need, I take on board the jets shouldn't need doing just a good clean but its obvious some ham fisted fingers have been at work before..no guarantee of holes not being oversized by paperclips wire brushes etc in the past so I'd rather do it the once..in the middle in deciding which to go for rebuild or new fcr, so also looking at other options as well..will do a bit more searching tonight..last nights trawl came up with this..now for a million yen win on a lotto scratch card!!!
    yahoo.aleado.com/lot?auctionID=s542563843

    Loverly spec..over $13,000 AUD though..FCR's included!!!!!

Thanks John, I'm currently waiting for a flywheel to arrive before I can progress further, couldn't find the GJ73a one anywhere in the UK(no NOS around and its a deleted/discontinued part) but have one arriving from a GF250 (predecessor to the GJ72a or gsxr250 mk1) which is slightly different but I believe can be modified to fit..i'm hoping to try out much of the above at the weekend...

Hi You can change the centres on the flywheels bit of work but worth it as they are difficult to find and the magnets are usually loose cracked or falling off

Hi Simon, Nice to find you. I am Akira from Japan facing very similar issues around Flywheel and Stator windings for the GSXR250R recently got from auction. Could you find the Flywheel? Mine the magnets crashed into powder and the coils are burnt out after might be hit by the magnets. As you say, the flywheel for bandit and across looks very different in the part figure. I am looking forward that the figure of the parts 31402-01D01 for GS500E is very similar so I am really annoying purchase it or not. Moff san, which parts did you fit to your GJ73A with modifing center whole?

Thank you for the information @maelstrom. The solution changing the center seems difficult for me, but It is very nice to know there is the way. Thanks! I wish @Simon may find the solution as well. Arigato!

Out of curiosity, I searched the part number for the rotor. A couple of listings, but they don't seem to be in stock, except for one Ukranian site:
    https://motokvartal.com.ua/rotor_31402-06c00-000/
I would confirm that they have the part before ordering (and the part number I have used), especially at that price! Good luck.

I have used jp-parts in the past, they have been able to get me hard to find parts new. They can also help you find good 2nd hand parts if no new ones exist.

I've heard of Suzuki doing a vintage parts program too

Be careful with Ukranian online sellers. One of my Ukranian customers warned me to keep away from a site that was selling extinct parts before. If this is a common problem then it is pointless to keep sourcing the same part, especially if it is 2nd hand.
