Yes. They were very good to start with.
Remember the guy who spent over $10,000 including conversion to EFI and it lost 8hp from what it originally had when comparing dyno results before and after.

Never saw that Mr Boddy. EFI is not going to make much difference to peak power if the carbs are well tuned, just more accurate fuel metering across broad conditions. If you fitted FCR carbs to the bike and compared to EFI, I expect the difference would be next to nothing.

The entire planet's worth of 400 V4 knowledge in one hit, that'll do it.

Ah I thought so, and do you run it with just the top part of the fairing like in the video.

I ran it like that for a year, changed over to full faired recently.

Mainly gathering parts for the build. I've ordered the Carrillo rods from Mike, and should be here this month. Still need to get some crank/rod bearings, piston rings and modified head gaskets before I can start assembling the engine.

    More things gathered:
    NC21 sprocket cover
NC21 clutch slave cylinder (May upgrade it in the future)
    NC21 push rod
    RC19S clutch master cylinder
    CBR600RR left hand switch-block
    CBR1000RR right hand switch-block
RVF400 pillion pegs, to replace the VFR400 ones
    VFR400 shock reservoir bracket
    Full engine rebuild set
    EBC heavy duty clutch
    Engine casings bead-blasted

Nice! Some serious parts in this project. Now I don't want to state the obvious but better safe than sorry. You did seal up all the oilways etc before bead blasting, yes?

The MC22 was a good project to start, but the NC35 has way more details. Well done.

Check these posts - 48 blog posts on doing EFI on a VFR400 - lots of doing it the hard way, but he does have some good insights into the tuning aspects - FWIW I'd just go FCR's and be done with it
